Be sure to check www.resellerratings.com on fotoconnection.com before even considering ordering from them. Doubt seriously if they have a MkII and there are many horror stories from customers who have bought from them. Not sure about Pictureline or Mel Pierce Camera.
One thing too, buying it local cuz I was #2 on a list I had to pay sales tax which bumped up to just about 5k. So buy it on Ebay and pay a higher price or local and maybe have to wait could be a wash for some.
I was just reading a posting on dpr from an owner of a 1D3 in the UK who received a recall letter from Canon. Apparently, some of 1D3s have problems with AF. I guess being low on the preorder list may have some advantages.

warning to those using Paypal! My camera was ready to ship today and Paypal denied payment. ( I was not home to get the call )It is a security feature( which is good) and If I had known I would have paid half down, because the limit is $3000.00
anyway, it is shipping tomorrow as I have to make two payments..Thought ya'll should know this ahead of time (wish I had known!)
