I have one in route from Hunts.. I got the tracking number today.. its on time for a friday delivery... just as Arthur Morris's site/newsletter states I dealt with Gary there and he REALLY helped expedite my order.. basically with his help I went from almost no hope of one anytime soon.. to having one on its way... normally I wouldnt write about such things but there seems to be a lot of interest in acquiring one of these.. so maybe this can help someone out... (though I kind of doubt if they have them ready to ship out right now, I have NO idea what Gary can do for someone today I just know he helped me a LOT)
I had forgotten that I had also signed up with Dury's of Nashville 2 months ago and they called today and said they were getting a few in and my number is up! I felt like driving out there and kissing the guy! sooo glad the waiting is over!!
That great news Susi, I'm very happy for you. Look like I have a long wait. I signed up on just the one pre-order list (Tallyns). Are you going to cancel at Tallyns?
Good Plan Susi. While I want to get my hands on one real bad, my Need to isn't as bad as my want to so I'm going to hang in there with Tallyns.
Assuming there really is a serious Error 99 situation, maybe waiting for Canon to work it out is better than having to return it where three isn't an immediate replacement, or to wait in line again at one of the repair stations.

By the time Tallyns get to my number all the bugs should have been worked out.
Hey Susi, glad you're getting your 1d3. Hope you let us still waiting know anything you find relevant. I am 1st in line at my local Pro Shop and this will be my 8th Canon SLR that they have ordered for me and always 1st or 2nd when they shipped. I skipped the N but have been very happy with the 1d2.
I wanted to let you know that I am completely overjoyed with the 135L. For what I use it for it fits the bill much better than the 200L. I traded it in for a 70-200 f4is which I am completely pleased with.
That is great Stan, glad the 135 is working out for ya! great lens eh!
Yep, the 70-200 4IS is next on my list!
Here is an interesting tid bit..I was told that the dealers who marked down the MKIII initially, lower than Suggested retail ,fell out of favor with Canon and that may explain why some of them aren't getting in their shipments.

Well Paul all I can tell you is I have put over 2000 shots on mine using every lens and TC combination and it has worked perfect. In fact I haven't had one shot out of focus yet. That alone amazes me compared to the 1DsMKII and 1DMKIIn. The AF on this camera is superb.
I don't know if other retailers in Germany already received some 1D MKIIIs.
Few days ago, I remember reading a German forum where a Pro
Photographer said to have his 1D MKIII already. Did it was an unique case?
My photo shop never got any 1D MKIII yet, though they seem to be an
important customer from Canon France. Some countries might have much
delayed shipments am affraid...
Take care.
I'm still waiting impatiently at no.2 in the queue at a German site. They still don't have a clue when they will get any. &%#@ fustrating.
Just poped into my local store in Stockholm and had a play with their demo III. Grrrrr, I hate this wait!!!!! It seems that this store has received about 9 so far, one became a demo and the 1st person on their queue just happened to be the salesman showing me it, grrrrrrr.
