I recived mine today and it doesnt work i get error 99 every time.....to hell with Canon and its quality control...at least 16-35mm mkII seems to work...
Well, you are not the only one. I have noticed at least 4 or 5 on the net.
I had the same after 2 days. No lens worked (all L-type from Canon).
I have sent mine back and ordered a new one.
Just returned it......not a frame fired, the camera just went dead as soon as i presed shutter button...error 99 thats it. Lens tested was new 16-35 mkII,
also 70-200 IS, 300 2.8 and 50 1.4...i think i made a mistake and order on a first order...should have waited a year and then buy it.Had the same experience with 10d, the first one i bought had problems and returned for a replacement. Iam done with the beta testing thats all i gotta say.

CF 3-10 plays into this. The top wheel now lets me select R out, R inside, L inside, L out, with the Quick Dial doing the vertical selection. I thought one of the reviews mentioned being able to do an "all around the racetrack" selection.

Not really. C.Fn 3-10 is for setting a registered point to be selectable by a press of the multi-controller, it has nothing to do with how one navigates among the other AF points.
C.Fn 3-9 may be what you are referring to as it does dictate whether inner 9, outer 9 or 19 points are selectable. The outer 9 setting gives you the 8 perimeter points and the center, so that is what I assume you mean by around the racetrack.
The second shipments should have arrived on Friday/weekend/Monday. They should be shipping #3 today. Chuck W. said the shipments would be "steady" from "here on out".
Basic information from my dealer, combining two reports out of B&H: (they supp. got 5 bodies the 1st week, and 125 last Friday!); Canon shipped two Wednesdays ago, makes sense they would stay on schedule.

I just called Tallyn again, no shipments this week and they are not sure when the next one will be
Here is the answer I received from Craig today.
Paul -
There is no new news to report since Update #2 was released. No more cameras have been received or delivered. I will be releasing update #3 with the most up-to-date list on Friday.

My camera store in Adelaide, Australia, was told by the Canon rep not to expect a shipment of MkIII's for 2 or 3 months!
Can someone ask Chuck W where we are going wrong? Who down here has offended Canon (not me, Chuck!) I don't want to park my $2000 deposit with them for up to 4 months!
If I cancel, the word is I would be waiting till well into the new year for a MkIII. Depressing.(And it's winter here too).
