I'm still waiting impatiently at no.2 in the queue at a German site. They still don't have a clue when they will get any. &%#@ fustrating.
Just poped into my local store in Stockholm and had a play with their demo III. Grrrrr, I hate this wait!!!!! It seems that this store has received about 9 so far, one became a demo and the 1st person on their queue just happened to be the salesman showing me it, grrrrrrr.
Looks like I backed the wrong horse. Grrrrrrr..
I'm still waiting for mine and the German store I ordered from still doesn't know when will they arrive...
I find this very strange, since I believe Germany is a very important market. Their online stores sell a lot of gear to most European countries due to lower prices.
Space Cowboy told me he canceled his order from Germany (the store told him ETA end of July ) and bought one locally (in France).
I am not very amused by these news...
Specially since I'm without a camera...
Last I heard from the stores was next delivery in mid or late july
I am still waiting and I am starting to get pretty pissed with canon for this shit
I am starting to wonder if one should just skip it and se what comes out i august/september doesn't look like this thing will artiave before that anyway
_what_ sounds like you are lucky from what I read on www.northlight-images.co.uk just now.
Quoting another source it says "of the 10 first MkIIIs arrived in Denmark, already 4 have been returned to Canon, due to display problems and other failures. One other has 3-5% of the files with errors, mostly stripes."

I had already given a thought or two about that possibility.
Since the 1Ds III is supposed to be announced later this year, probably September, I have been thinking about canceling the 1dM3 and waiting for it.
I mean, the 1DMIII is an awesome machine, but going from 8 to 10Mp is not much of a difference. The 16MP 1Ds II files, on the other hand, are very nice...
If they introduce most of those updates into the 1DsMIII, then it's going be a truly amazing piece of gear...
I foresee two possible problems, however.
- Price:
If it comes with all of these 1dMIII "gadgets" AND a 20 or even 22Mp sensor with lower noise ability, canon can ask whatever the hell they want for it, because no one can touch it. Not even close. There is just no competition. None.
So I suspect it will be priced "accordingly", so out of my league...
- Availability.
Like the 1DM3, it's going to take long before it's available to the public, specially non-pros. Probably December...
AND, since there seems to be a few issues with the 1DMIII, the announcement of the 1DsMIII might get delayed, in order to fix them and to ensure the Ds does not come with them either.
I don't seem to find the info.
do you have the precise reference of the address?
