p.5 #1 · Wedding Horrors

Haha, that's incredible. I'm sure at the time it was nothing short of terrifying, but I'm glad you came out safely on the other side to enjoy such an experience as being...well..."eye-opening"

I guess after this and the infamous Whyte Ave..."festivities" here in Edmonton we Canadians can't pretend to be gentle and polite anymore!

Thanks for the story, I can't wait to get into wedding photography. I think you need to be a little crazy to deal with brides all the time!

Do you think the bride thought for a moment that her 15 minutes would get her on a wedding photo forum and almost 10,000 pairs of eyes would be laughing at her wedding?

Im really suprised "paw" diden't break out the ol' side by side scatter gun. After all, I'm sure he had it draped over his forearm during the ceremony.

Did the check clear?

Can't believe you are post-event and have a check... shouldn't payment be
made in full BEFORE the day of the event... if nothing else, this type of
wedding shows why... people are crazy.

Not so much the wedding, but the reception. Outside reception, NW TN. JULY.

When I left the reception at 7:00 it was 99 degree's F. I don't shoot outside weddings and/or receptions in JUNE, JULY, or August. Turned down 4 so far this year.

You can't make 'em look like their enjoying themselves when sweat is jumping off of them.

Now if I can just get a redneck wedding like yours

I did shoot a small one in December, were the BM/GM wore riendeer antlers. But that's another story.

Holy Crap man, I'm glad you and the eq got out alive. I was browsing the forum for ideas and just to get me back into the motions of doing wedding photog (currently working full time for a youth camp doing video) and am shooting (photog not video swore I'd never do another video in my life) a wedding on Saturday (the 1st)... I hope it doesn't get this wild, well then again I'm young and fast it would be a great story!

I had a similar experience, but with a slight twist. The groom thought it would be cool to bring his dogs to the reception to surprise his bride. They also came in handy after the cake fight. The dark carpets were covered in white icing until his dogs discovered the mess and cleaned it all up. This is something that most wedding planners would never think of.

The only thing I've ever seen to compete with this was on some TV show where the groom got arrested at the ceremony.

Even though you told a great story it was hard to believe.
Thanks for the pics. Hilarious.

I still don't believe that wardrobe malfunction part. I'm going to need to see a pic of that before I can believe it.

You should put all the pics online so we can see the whole event unfold.

Man!, that one is a beauty of "people gone bad".
I have one experience of "people with NO class showing the world they are just boors".
No pro or semi-pro photographer present. I was a friend of the hair lady.
off-topic, but maybe humorous.
She was Cajun from the back bayou, he washed out of boot camp, but was decent enough. The hair lady did the hair for bride, MOB (from Hell), and 2 attendants (cousins of bride) who acted like Cinderella's ugly stepsisters. She got stiffed on the hair fees. The wedding was really, really late because the Mother of Bride (MOB) was yelling at Bride and made Bride cry all the makeup off. Hair lady put face back together, too.

The attendants were supposed to make their own dresses, but one only had the hint of "sewing it together" and had to be put into it by safety pins. (By the hair lady and the hair lady's mother.) No words of thanks for the help.

When the MOB got to her seat, she grabbed a pocket cam, and almost fought with another relative to get front-aisle shots of the bridal procession. No decorum. Running around the outer end of the pew to get to the front, kneeling down in the aisle, talking, telling others to get out of the way.....

But my friends got back. While sewing the most obnoxious bridesmaids into her dress, they sewed the underwear onto the dress. No zippers were used either. This bridesmaid also drank the most beer. . . . .

I'm SO glad I didn't have to be nice to the bride's family.
