p.4 #1 · Your Best 5D shots...

Curt, well with my chains images, the vignetting was added via PSCS2 as an artistic element. FWIW, the image was shot handheld at ISO800 using a Tamron 28-78 f/2.8 at 75 f/2.8. There was no vignetting on the original.

Cheers!

Yes, I do think that a 4 x 5" film and scan would make a significant difference!

For 600x400 web-sized photos? Not a chance!

No, my comment wasn't a personal attack, it was, if any attack at all, an attack on what you said. You calling me a loser is a personal attack. And while your 2 cents are as important as mine, that doesn't make them correct or worth wasting bandwidth posting.

Pieces,

Did you post that shot before? (or did someone have one similar)

I remember thinking that was an good example of having great detail in darker areas in spite of the much lighter background of the bridge and sky!

Certainly not the best, but to show what this camera does handheld with IS lenses

My 10D would have added lots of noise and banding.

Here's one from today.

I love how moody this one is with the way it's casting a shadow into the steam.

I love what this camera can do.

I think I'll keep my 20D for now but will purchase the 24-105 IS lens.

All the images look pretty impressive and I would really like to get a 5D to replace my 20D but somehow if I had the dollars I would prefer the Leica DMR, there is something special about the images the leica takes that look so much more appealing than anything else I have scene.

Moonrise San Diego
Just getting used to my 5D.
From the Cabrillo National Monument on Point Loma.
The statue in the foreground is Joao Rodrigues Cabrillo, the Portugues explorer who was the first European to visit California 1n 1542.
If you look closely the couple to the left of the statue are viewing a digital photo they just took.
