For folks waiting, I think things are shipping faster than expected. I had an ETA of end of this month, and got mine yesterday. So hopefully folks are moving up the queues

Has anyone figured out how to use Peak Design anchors with the X2D II? Would like to prevent the scratches to the anchor points on the body if possible compared with the OEM strap, but not sure how realistic that is.

I mount all my camera straps through the tripod screw. PD or not. I don’t like how normal straps make the lenses stick out ready for impact.

Hasselblad will sell you lug mounts if you email them directly.

Same here. Especially when there's more of me than there should be, so the risk is exaggerated. I find the RRS and Kirk L-plates that have the QD socket to be the perfect system for my shoulder and wrist straps.

Just back from first overnight at White Pocket and what a place. Loving the X2Dii and have decided to get a second body and perhaps even rid myself of the SL3 and keep the SL3S and perhaps even rid myself of a few SL non-Leica lenses.
There was a guy carrying tripod with some Can/Nik/Sony gear on it. And I mentioned it was so liberating to shoot with my camera in daylight and not have to carry a tripod. I told him 10 IBIS stops sure helps. He was not interested and apparently did not realize IBIS had gotten that good. I am not steady but 1/50 even with the 90V seems to work and surely with the 25V, 38V and 55V.
After long nights shots (on a tripod) there seems to be a glitch where the camera just locks up and is unresponsive until I turn off and back on. Could not review the last image until starting camera up again. Could be me, but it sure was unusual to experience.
P.S. The latest FW seemed to have fixed this problem.

Fixed failure to query the lens exposure count.
Fixed issue where checkbox selection didn't work in some settings.

Love the veiny texture. Love that the designers made a conscious choice. One of the pleasant surprises about my little GR iii was reading about their approach to the emboss. They even published an article explaining their thought process. https://www.grblog.jp/en/article/2343/

Does anyone find the shutter button on the X2D II ridiculously loud? It's louder than the sound of the leaf shutter itself. My Leica/Nikons all have pretty much silent shutter buttons.

What does this even mean? Shutter buttons don't make noise.
Do you have some software audio turned on for shutter release?

Ahh, but yes they do, at least in my case. When I half press the orange shutter button for AF, it's silent. But when I full depress the button to capture an image, the mechanical mechanism makes a very loud click sound. Can't figure out how to attach a video, maybe I'll upload to YT.
Are you saying your X2D II shutter button is completely silent when you depress it fully?

Mine is the same as my X2D, ie: effectively silent. There shouldn't be an audible click from the button itself.

When I fully depress the shutter yes the lens makes an audible sound. Of course if on ES then there is no sound.

Which lens? Exact same for all lenses?
The point I think others are making is the need to differentiate between the shutter button action itself ... vs. the corresponding leaf shutter action, which occurs INSIDE the LENS.
Depending on the lens being used, the "clunkiness" of the leaf shutter may vary. Whereas, your reference to focal plane shutters in the body have a different "signature" of sound, regarding the shutter action (following the shutter release action of the button).
For most leaf shutter systems (Leica Q's, for instance), the action of the button is not "mechanically linked" to the shutter in the lens. As such, it doesn't render the same kind of "click" that other cameras might (focal plane shutter) ... but, the lens itself can be more of a "clunk". That said, I've not shot with the newer Hassy V / P / E series XCD lenses, so I don't have any reference how they compare to the likes of my (previous) 45/3.5 or 80/1.9. But, I will say that the first time I used the 45/3.5 XCD ... it sound like it was gonna "fall apart", compared to some things. It's solid, but it was a bit "shocking" for the difference. I got used to in pretty quickly, but again ... that was the sound of the leaf shutter in the lens, not the shutter release button action, itself.

Thanks. Based on your input there's probably something wrong with mine then. Seems minor to send it in for service, but I worry the loud sound is due to a missing rubber gasket or something that could impair water resistance

For the other folks, while I appreciate the attempt to help, truly I do, please read the thread. As I mentioned in my first post, the shutter button sound is LOUDER than the leaf shutter sound. I know what a leaf shutter is, and what it sounds like . This is a different sound coming from the shutter button itself as I described. When I depress the shutter button when the camera is off, it still makes the sound so clearly it's not the leaf shutter.
