I've never owned a Safari edition myself, but I've always thought it's one of the best-looking special editions they've done.
I agree with you Fred.. I've always loved the look for the "Safari" series cameras. The M safari's are stunning, but I wish they'd use a "green" dot instead of the silver one in the middle of the camera. I actually think the silver dot is too distracting. In fact, I actually would love it if they made a green Leica logo for that spot... all green with the "tactile" Leica script...
For yeas I lusted over the Leica R3 safari kit that came with the 28mm, 50mm, 90mm, and 180mm lenses in green. I missed the opportunity to buy the whole kit for $2500 last year.. I'd still love to own and shoot a few rolls of film through that system
Surprisingly, not a limited edition. From the Leica Store Miami product page:
"the Leica M11-P Safari is a current product within Leica’s product portfolio moving forward."
“The strap shown in the images is the Leica Leather Carrying Strap with Shoulder Pad, Cognac (product Code 18559), which is not included in the scope of delivery.”

That strap gets around. It was originally made as an accessory for the M11-D going so far as to call it the "Leica M11-D Leather Carrying Strap". It's only recently been in stock at most places, especially the black version.

"Scratch resistant" paint? Hopefully it will still wear down to the brass at the edges like the 2022 reissue M6. I don't think paint in general adheres as well to brass as to aluminum.

I think that's a good call on Leica's part. I like how the black paint is just a regular catalog item, too. Perhaps they'll make the M11-P Reporter the limited edition.

so it's going to be mass produced in which case what justifies the starting price (just now advertised on Leica Miami store) of $10,495?
I guess "justification" could simply be liking the appearance and not being bothered by price.
Hmm, looking at the online Leica store the price in SEK is actually a tad less for the Safari than for the M11-P
