so it's going to be mass produced in which case what justifies the starting price (just now advertised on Leica Miami store) of $10,495?
I guess "justification" could simply be liking the appearance and not being bothered by price.

Hmm, looking at the online Leica store the price in SEK is actually a tad less for the Safari than for the M11-P
The US cost difference might be the 145% tariff hitting some of the Chinese-sourced parts (battery, etc.). Leica might be absorbing some of that cost on the other models, or they'd already stockpiled the parts for those.
From what I've heard it will still be "limited" to 2000 units, just not advertised/numbered as such. Same with the glossy black which doesn't show limited but won't be done in large quantities.
The price is what it is, definitely high for most but not too much of a premium over the regular 11-P
I hadn’t even noticed that! It seems most of the press images are taken from the other angles intentionally? Perhaps it is a cost saving measure given they have the black buttons from other versions.

No one believes Leica when they say limited edition anyway, not unless it's a numbered item.

Hmm, I was going to agree with you, then I looked up the M10-P Safari images... I think the silver on the black LCD frame and d-pad surround might be more odd than I remembered.

The floating rear buttons on the M11 look nicer in my opinion, but I still prefer them in silver over black on the Safari. Either way, this camera looks stunning with silver lenses. I like the olive-green (military roots) finish, but personally I'd rather shoot with a silver or black body.
It looks like Leica combined attributes of both Safari and Reporter editions in one.
I know you like Safari editions. Are you getting one?

I blew all my camera money on getting the M11M again right before the price increase. I still would like to get one once I can afford it again.

Another change with the M11 is that special paint finishes, like Glossy Black or Olive Green, are no longer limited editions...they're now part of the regular production lineup.
