Vancouver BC-
Also Whistler-
Mtn biking trip for the week-
Only really complaint about this camera is the inability to get files off expeditiously. Hasseblad and Leica can transfer images in a few seconds. This thing is a few minutes.

I may not be remembering correctly, but didn't you shoot a Q? You prefer this over say a Q2 or Q3? I loved my Q2 Reporter and one of biggest regrets selling that and was leaning toward that something like that again for a fixed lens walk around since Sony doesn't seem to be refreshing the Rx1r2 any time soon.
Yes- I owned the q2 and q3-
I like an idiot sold the Q3 and bought the Q3-43- Hated 43mm focal length. Just not for me. 28mm is the perfect focal length for a travel/compact ish camera.
Fuji has been great and very comparable in function to the Q3 but the files are just so fun to work with on medium format- If I can get them off the camera

I have read quite a bit of this thread, but not all, so maybe this has been discussed:
Any thoughts on possible dust in camera / on sensor?
I get it, it's fixed lens, should not happen.
It did happen to some Sony RX1 owners though and did result in significant cost to resolve.
I'd think it's early days for the GFX so less likely to have occurred yet.
Have owners thought about it? Maybe it's hoped the GFX has better build and sealing meaning it's less likely?

100RF feels very well built. If the filter included is used, it is weather sealed also around the lens.
About the dust... No reports yet, but everything is possible. Personally I am not worried.

Has anyone seen any integrated filter + lens hood adapters that goes directly on to the lens yet? I think there's an opportunity for someone to make something like that to keep the lens as small as possible.

It is sealed as shown below with the additional ring + filter like X100VI series:

Squarehood has been working on some options they said they are close to release.

The length of the 100RF filter/hood adapter is to accommodate the movement of the lens in and out when focusing. I don't think the ring could get any shorter without risking the lens hitting an attached filter when focusing at MFD.
Yukosteel made a shorter 57-49mm version ring protype that matches to 57-55+55-55 ring length. I will be testing it next week. 3D print shipped but it is coming on Tue with 4th of July weekend break...

I wouldn't bother with some kind of third party adapter, filter. I keep the camera in bag with the lens cap, and the adapter ring with hood and filter separately. When I need protection because of rain, dust, or shading in bright sun I just screw on the whole set. I think one of main purpose of this camera is the thin form factor to easy slide in-out a small sling.

Let me know how that goes with the 59 to 49mm ring idea. I think the Hoage idea works well for the X100VI but given the better optics, I wouldn't put a generic glass filter over the GFX100RF.
I'm currently using just the adapter portion minus the lens hood with a Leica filter I had laying around. The adapter portion can definitely be made a little smaller.

Ironic that Fujifilm went so far as to leave out IBIS to make the body as compact as possible but didn't make their filter adapter as short as possible.

Yes. I saw one interview with the Fujifilm rep in Europe and he said they produced 100 prototypes eg with faster lens, ibis, oss lens, etc and they produced current model with smallest body. I assume to compete with Q series. They keep very close focus option, so the lens play. I think the feedback from their testing team might have some of the input... As you said I don't know why they designed this fancy ring layout instead of keeping the lens section smaller...

That's painful to hear because I think a lot of us would have preferred a slightly larger/heavier camera that was f/2 with IBIS or OIS. Perhaps it was much larger and not just a little.

It's not. If you need f2 lens you can buy Q3, Q3 43, FF ILCE or GFX100SII with any fast prime lens. If you can put a 50mm length lens 20mm section into camera body it's a significant size cut. If you can put 20mm from a 90mm lens into the body it's insignificant. I've not so tempted with Leica Q, because an ILCE with F2 prime barely thicker, and the difference just not matters. Q3 already too thick, the lens is too big for everyday carry, The RF body is larger but it's like a book with just the lens cap.

Yes, who wouldn’t want f2 and ibis if it was “slightly” larger…but I think in reality it would not be slightly larger thus defeating a small carry anywhere GFX.
I think the haoge filter adapter says the original gfx100rf lens cap fits it, so im guessing the haoge lens cap should also fit it? But it'd be great if someone can confirm
