If there are units already in the US and Fuji is still holding - that's something that will make me not want anything to do with Fuji again. That would mean units are already on US soil, have not been impacted by tariffs and Fuji is holding to see if they should raise prices on those specific units for no reason at all but to make more money. Now, I'm not saying that is the case, as there is a chance no units have been shipped to the US at all. But, what worries me about these tariffs is that eventually every company in the sun can claim tariffs and just spike costs and most consumers would have no idea if they are truthful or not. Your AC unit breaks? Well, those parts to fix it have been subject to tariffs sorry it will cost $200 more. Most people won't ask about the detail of those parts and if there is truth to it, they want their damn house cooled in the summer.

It's kind of a sticky situation, no? The tariffs went into effect before the street date of the camera, meaning realistically everyone should pay the same amount from day 1 if the MSRP is going to change...otherwise you'll have launch day folks paying their $4900, and 2nd wave folks paying hundreds more, even though tariffs had been in effect for weeks before.
Fuji (and many other companies) are in a tough spot here.

The way supply chains work with such products these days — especially newly introduced products — there is unlikely to be enough product actually in the US to satisfy even initial demand.
Between worrying if companies will take advantage of tariffs to raise prices even more (and further shrink their already depressed sales?) and being concerned about just about everything having to do with the tariffs themselves, I think that latter is the more obvious issue.

That assumes anyone wants to provide an excuse. At least in some cases, companies will charge more because they can, the sales price has moved. I happened around Covid and will again with the tariffs.

While I am uncertain if my order for the GFX100RF will be fulfilled, based on all the rumors surrounding the impact of the latest economic decrees, I did receive my made to order wrist straps for both my GFX 100S II as well as the GFX100RF.
I prefer wrist straps to neck straps and use Gordy’s wrist straps for all my cameras. They are high quality made to order leather wrist straps. They also make neck straps.
They are near Seattle and are made at their facilities after you order with leather color, type of attachment, etc. I highly recommend them and have used them for years.

Great balanced write up. Interesting concerns, I've bought and sold x100's a couple of times. The appeal of auto focus in a small package is enticing against my manual focus Leicas, but then I end up selling due to the build quality being so poor, against the Leicas especially, but even against the GRIII - which a lot of people say is poorly built. Now wondering if the gfx100rf may fall into the same bucket as the x100's for me.

Nice first impressions writeup.
I expect the blackout time to be shorter in 14-bit mode. There is no need to shoot in 16 bits. The 14-bit mode also reduces file size.
Thanks A7rV files look slightly cooler and tinted towards magenta while GFX100RF files are warmer. Looks like typical Sony-Fujifilm comparison to me. That is how I see it... Both can be made to look about the same, but I think this is where Fuji is its best.
GFX100RF has some ca. You demonstrate it well, and it has been reported earlier. I am not sure if it is bad enough to be a significant problem in real life. Unfortunately cropping makes ca look worse.
35 GM is a seriously good lens and the flaws it (maybe) has, are very well corrected in software. Personally I am not interested in GFX100RF to compare it technically with the best equipment Sony (or Fuji GXF system, or Hasselblad....) can offer. Good files, nice looking pictures and enjoyable photography experience is maybe more realistic expectation.

I think the only reason compare to a perfectly corrected 35mm lens is the cropping ability. If you want use regularly 45 and 63mm crops, any flaws becomes visible. I'd very happy with similar performance to 35GM, but it's just not real expectation such small lens, even with F4 aperture. Also you can switch off distortion correction on presented raws, there is a huge barrel distortion of the lens, also not surprising from this kind of pancake. I don't have a conclusion, only share those technical shots if anyone curious.
The shooting experience with the camera is extremely good I can tell. Excellent EVF with huge 4:3 view, tilting screen, top tier build quality, only the joystick inferior to Sony for me.
