No filter at all. I was on Multi on metering mode. I find that that does a pretty good job. Sometimes, I bias that -1/3 or -2/3 a stop, but the A1ii, like the A1, do a good job protecting highlights.

Had a blast a couple of weeks ago - finaly got a chance to visit Riserva naturale regionale del Lago di Cornino - home to a colony of Griffon Vultures. They have a strong colony, counting up to 150 birds nesting in the hills above this charming tiny emerald lake. Hope I can transfer some of the joy I felt having these majestic birds flying over my head that magical morning...

Capturing a landing sequence is tougher than a take-off one. As long as the reach is there, requiring only some cropping, even a 24-MP camera could pull this task just fine...
