A couple of shots from Conowingo Dam last weekend. The eagles are mostly gone but for a few now that the chad run is over, but there are other birds around.

The Pileated Woodpeckers are in my backyard every day now, hopefully they'll bring their young around soon.

Excellent! These birds are a favorite. I'm hearing them daily now, but no opportunities yet.

Thanks, for some reason they sure like my backyard this year and I'm not complaining.

Great shots, gentlemen!

These were my first shots of hummers this season, from my yard last week.

When you did the first shot.. did you use some sort of filter? It's so well exposed and I'm trying to figure out how you all capture hits like this as it's pretty amazing. It seems like a shot taken higher in the sky and I'm surprised you were able to capture such detail on the lower body without blowing out your highlights and still maintaining quality.

Four of them in a single frame - awesome, Jose! I couldn't even capture a single one... 😟...

They are not particularly tolerant of each other when perched, usually you'll see a pair resting together so it was odd to see four of them so close together.

Hi Douglas, these were taken in north east Portugal, next to the Spanish boarder near the town of Vila Nova de Foz Coa
