Well, just heard back from Leica Wetzlar (sent an e-mail on Monday) and it's the same thing. Supplier side issues and no concrete delivery dates.
"We have taken steps to ensure the continued availability."
Yeah but mysteriously they have no problem keeping M11 batteries in stock.

The M10 manual says the battery degrades significantly after several hundred chargings. It also says to replace the battery after four years. Considering the camera is eight years old, the current need for batteries must be high if their statements are true.

Hi John,
My original battery from my M 9 Mono was still working great when I sold it to get the M 10 Mono after 9 years. And my batteries from my 2 M 10s which are both older than 5 year are still working just fine knock on wood ha ha.
I do agree Leica needs to get this sorted. I do believe they will.

Which is really bothering me. I’m sticking it out because I always make poor decisions and sell only to want back in immediately but stuff like this drives me nuts. Add in the crazy price of everything with their name on it.

People who pay attention to that also pay attention to the expiration date on a carton of milk. If it isn’t chunky, it’s still good.

No one asked, but here are my thoughts on lithium batteries. I learned this through research, and it might be helpful to some.
How to extend the life of your battery?
A simple way to prolong the life of your battery is to avoid charging it beyond 80% and not letting it drop below 20%. This practice can significantly extend its lifespan and applies to all modern lithium batteries. While it is not always practical, treating this as a general rule rather than an exception can make a real difference over time.
Do you need to replace your battery after four years, as recommended in the Leica manual?
It depends on how often you use it and whether you follow the above guidelines. Even if you take good care of your battery it will naturally lose some capacity over time. After 4 years, it may not hold a full charge like it did when new. If you want "maximum" performance, replacing it could be a good idea, but a well-maintained battery should still hold most of its charge and remain useful for many more years.
If you have multiple batteries for your camera, it is a good idea to rotate them regularly. Avoid leaving them unused for long periods, but if you do, keep them charged between 20 and 80%..

I wish I knew this, I was just out in Pasadena today!

Take heart! I was informed of a small shipment of M10 batteries which just came in to the Los Angeles Leica Store and I just picked up a couple.
Just coming back to say I called the LA store and was able to order a couple. They may have some left, in case anyone was looking.

This is so wild that I don't even own a M10 yet but I tried to buy a spare battery just to prepare for when I do get one and my order got canceled due to stock lol

Well, last I posted, one battery was still working. It too has now died, 6 years after purchase. Have an olive drab M10, an attractive brick. No battery to be found.
Fantastic, Leica--if you are listening or even care.
This is awful. Have you tried to contact them directly?

They don't care.
May Sir be interested in upgrading to an M11? We are making plenty of batteries for those.
