I got mine today, decided to give that PixelShift a try. Shot a pic of this Z5. PS Resolution is 12096 x 8064 vs the normal 6048 x 4032 image. It's more detailed but you have to really zoom to see it. Nice feature to have. Shot with a Z 24-50 lens.
The focus is a lot better than the Z6 ii for sure, shooting in electronic shutter at 20 fps is very similar to the Z8, in that the partially stacked sensor has very fast readout with no blackout and pretty much unlimited buffer. It was delivered with firmware 1.0 and does not have bird specific subject recognition but it does feel like bird recognition is built into the animal profile pretty well and it will put a box on their head and sometimes on their eye directly... I was using wide area large to get initial focus and passing it off to auto area AF with a function button on my 600 PF as I do on the Z8 and it works very well. Auto area af on it's own works very well as well in animal mode and was very sticky with fast moving Osprey... Image quality is very nice...

Did you notice much of a difference switching between cameras ? Is the viewfinder any better in use ?
I was pretty close to the nest, a couple were out a bit and cropped about 50%, the closer ones about 25 %, obviously you don't have the same cropping room with half the pixels and I was mostly trying to see what the AF can do, and it does pretty well...
The Z6 iii is a lot smaller and although the button placement is very close, some of the z8/z9 features I like are not there like being able to cycle the af area modes quickly using the record button which I really like. Hopefully some of these things can be easily added in a firmware update...
Shot some Hummingbirds, only used electronic shutter but at times rolling shutter was there, but overall very happy, next time I will try the mechanical shutter.

That handled 14400 ISO pretty well
I generally limit my ISO to 12800, but prefer to keep below 4000 if possible. I usually use DxO Pure Raw for high ISO shots, but they do not support the Z6iii yet. So I applied a light amount of LR Denoise on this image.
