I generally limit my ISO to 12800, but prefer to keep below 4000 if possible. I usually use DxO Pure Raw for high ISO shots, but they do not support the Z6iii yet. So I applied a light amount of LR Denoise on this image.
Curious about the timing of possible dXO Photolab DeepPrime XD support for the Z6 III, I did a DuckDuckGo search for support and found a dXO support forum post where a Photolab staff member responded and commented that they have a Z6 III “in lab” and are working on profiles, etc ( i.e. supporting it). They suggest a September support timeframe for NEF raws for the Z6 III. No mention of whether support for high efficiency raw or not. That said since the files sizes for regular NEF lossless raw are not that large for 24mp files, it makes sense to NOT use the high efficiency raw settings for now as those options might not be supported right away. Just my humble opinion.
Add on comment: hey folks please include your exif data with your images. Also, liking what I am seeing. Keep ‘em coming.

I hope they can get support out soon. I generally only shoot lossless raw anyway, and I have found I can very good results using the noise reduction in Lightroom, it just takes longer! Much easier to use DxO, but I always leave their sharpening turned off.

I sent DXO a suggest module for my z6 III and the response was "We have taken your camera suggestion into account." So hopefully it will not take very long for them to produce. And I agree shooting lossless raw with these smaller files make sense as compared to a Z9 or 8 file.
First light of astro with the Z6III. I do think my legacy Z6 I might have a slight edge for this category believe it or not. Either way, I am still happy with how this shot came out. Hiked up a mountain in my favorite place (Adirondacks) with 2 other bodies, 4 lenses, and my star tracker. This is just one of many from that night. Z6III w/ Z-70-200 2.8 S @135mm. 190 30” images @ f/4 manually stitched in PS.
