I just want pre-capture with raw support. I'm content with everything else on my Nikons.
I've been waiting weeks for Nikon to fix my Z8 (rear display glass broken) , they claim parts back order , I wonder if they are using them for all the Z6iii's.
The Nikon teaser is out, and it hinted at pre-capture and also maybe a brighter EVF (my interpretation of what was said). The Z8/Z9 EVF is already brighter than the one in the Z6 II, but I'm not sure if they mean something that is a further improvement. Other than that it didn't seem to give much new, concrete information except that there will be more details on June 17th (which will probably be the announcement date).

People will riot if the Z6iii only has a 3.x mil dot EVF in 2024. I suspect it'll be Z8/Z9 brightness but 5.x and not quite as smooth on the refresh rate since it won't have a stacked sensor feeding it.
I don't care about this resolution, just make it a high iso beast. I have a Z9 for rez and if I need more than that I have a GFX100S. patotts wrote:
Please let it have Sony's excellent 33MP sensor from the A7IV with Nikon magic juice sprinkled over it.

I'd really be surprised if it doesn't have a stacked sensor.
It won't. We're still at a point were stacked anything instantly creates a $3200 at minimum I think for full frame. The Z6III is not in that market space. It's gotta be priced to compete with the A7IV and R6II. robert_in_ca wrote:

absolute zero change of stacked sensor at this market segment/price point, but let's hope for 33mp, new bigger and brighter EVF, new gen 4 way tilt back LCD, latest gen AF and processor, etc. And the dark horse - CFExpress 4.0 :-)

If it was 33mpx it would have likely leaked by now. The only consistent rumor has been "improved 24 Mpx"
I venture to say I will know all I need to know by this time next week, and that will determine if I wade into the scary world of mirrorless for my old Nikkors. I will say that I already picked up a FTZii just in case, but..................if so, there has NEVER been a better time to be imaging with manual focus Nikkors.
