Most of the time I will be shooting with this camera in electronic shutter. Except for some artificial light situations I don't see a reason to use mechanical shutter. I wish that 15fps had the same viewfinder performance as 20fps though. There is a noticeable difference. The 20fps is almost blackout free and the blackouts are so fast that it is barely perceptible. Slower than 20fps there is noticeable blackout in ES.
FYI 20fps switches from blackout to slideshow, so it's lagged but some may find it more appealing than a blackout. Nikon should probably add an option to let the user choose.

Ok, that's good to know. Just tested and can definitely see a slight jump in the viewfinder when the shutter button is released. Do you how that that is working in practical terms? Is the camera beginning to capture the moment the shutter is pressed or does this create a slight delay in the capture as well? I would assume that the viewfinder is lagged to the actual images captured but that the camera is capturing for the duration that the shutter is pressed. This would just mean that the camera is actually capturing a few more frames than what the viewfinder shows.

I posted some lag measurements when the Z6 III came out, including comparisons to the Z6. Here's my video:
The Z6 III 20fps measurements start at 4:41. I measured the lag at roughly 50ms.
Panasonic released their S1 II with the same sensor as the Z6 III, but the DR is quite superior and does not have any flicker issues. Curious what Nikon is doing wrong here? I thought it was the sensor but turns out that sensor is the highest dynamic range sensor Panasonic put in their S1 camera. Curious if Nikon can hammer this DR flickering issue out
