We have confirmed that some SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art lens when focusing on the wide end, may not be able to focus to infinity or may experience reduced focusing accuracy.
We would like to inform you that we will begin providing re-adjustment of the focus position free of charge starting today.
Please note that this phenomenon will not occur with SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art lenses with serial numbers other than those applicable.

This, and the above mention about the warranty service, which I’ve heard others say is very good as well, is one of many things I appreciate about Sigma.
It seems Sigma is much more likely, from what I seem to hear anecdotally, to actually adjust the lens for descending, tilt, spacing issues, etc…, rather than just return it and say “within spec”. I believe, forgive if I’m mistaken, that Fred listed Sigma, along with Leica, and Zeiss or maybe it was Leica and Voigtlander, as being less likely to have decentering in his experience.
I think all the manufacturers have issues, but some more than others, and perhaps more importantly, how they deal with it is key.
For the prices of any of these manufacturers lenses, I think it’s fair to expect a bit tighter tolerances, or at least a willingness to correct it if they’re reasonably underperforming.

They already sent me the repair order and a pre-paid mailing label. So far very good!

I had exactly the same issue with the Sony GM 24-70 II. Return twice to services but never okay.

I do have the Tamron 28-75/2.8 G2 still and have enjoyed it a lot, both E mount and Z mount. I have a love for f/2.8 midrange zooms and every now and then I like to try a different one. I have never shot this Sigma but a friend of mine raves about it.
I really love my Sigma f/2.8 24-70mm DG DN II. I use it for all of my wet/sloppy conditions work like waterfalls and when I want a flexible minimal carry weight kit. It is wonderfully sharp and produces stunning images. I would love it if Sigma came out with an f/4 version (or a 24-105 f/4!) for hiking, but until then the f/2.8 works quite well for my needs.
