Being a landscape photographer mostly, and not usually posting family shots, I don't have much to contribute at the moment! But the sometimes maligned 1.8S series does deserve this thread of appreciation!
I was fairly close to the cat, maybe a few feet away at most. By getting in close you can get some nice out of focus backgrounds which you don’t see too often with a very wide lens. The lens is also extremely sharp throughout the frame right from f/1.8.

Out of curiousity. How far from the cat where you? The background is nice and blury for a 20mm 1.8.

Thats a really cool shot! it gives the impression it was taken on another planet! It's also refreshing to se the use of shallow depth of field on a landscape shot. Almost like a medium format camera.
What lens did tou use for that shot?

Of course I should have posted that originally! It’s the 50/1.8S at F/1.8 on a Z7.
I love the second and third pic. The rolling hills with the fog makes a stunning landscape. What area is this? It could be either somewhere in the north east USA or in the UK

Thank you! These were taken near our housing plan which is in rural Washington County outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
We hosted a trial competition last week-end. I was competing so I could not take picture but luckily enough my wife volonteered to take my camera and document the event.
I was not expecting much but I was amazed by the end results. Not only that she only used the 50mm she managed to get some great actions shot! I set the camera to 3D tracking and minimum speed of 1/320th auto iso in aperture priority.
So for once these are not my photos!
Here are some exemple.
