I was fairly close to the cat, maybe a few feet away at most. By getting in close you can get some nice out of focus backgrounds which you don’t see too often with a very wide lens. The lens is also extremely sharp throughout the frame right from f/1.8. I tried a 14-30 but I prefer the 20 S for the extra sharpness and wider aperture.

Out of curiousity. How far from the cat where you? The background is nice and blury for a 20mm 1.8.
