The alpha male of the snow monkey troop, or dragon king posing for a portrait in the mist of the hot spring pool Japan
Z8 and the plena at F2. I brought the plena with me to do animal portraits and the monkeys among others were cooperative. The plena seems remarkable to me. The out ot focus background was enhanced because it is the mist of a hot spring pool, the circumstances of which made this a great shoot.

You did well for first try.... welcome to the astro club
Thanks. It is a lot of fun but living a big city, so anytime I want to do this mean overnight trip somewhere and we generally have clear sky over here only a few months of the year but I definitely will try more when I have an opportunity.

You could consider a light pollution filter- it will help, place it over the sensor

Thanks.
Somehow I have the ability to do silly shutter speeds, comes in handy at airshows too.

I am shocked that you were able to shoot candids at those shutter speeds. Great shots considering (heck even great shots not considering!)

Z6II + Plena ... It's been a while since i've shot this lens along with my M4 Comp .. Its been hibernating. I took it out to the car wash and snapped a few shots down the street.

Great shots.
#4 would have been the best if the car has been positioned in driving condition, turning into the curve. It looks weird like going out of the road. Reshoot it as if it was going fast into the curve with the wheels going left. It would add drama and emphasize the beautiful s curve.

Nice! Orion nebula on the left and the Orion belt on the right (the three stars). Got them into some photos while I was in Lapland this February (I live in Finland), but they were small on a a Sigma 12mm wide angle on a Fuji camera. But Auroras stole the show back then. Been hoping to be able to shoot the Orion nebula with a proper telephoto lens, as I've also been bitten by the astro bug. Just photographed Andromeda galaxy with my Fuji XF 70-300mm since I don't have anything nearly as long with my Zf (pics in Fuji group).

Yeah this whole EV thing is crazy. i think lots of people are keeping their cars they currently own.
I can only imagine the prices of those will go up as people are already sick of EVs, and especially anything with a manual trans will go up. I've been eyeing a E53 4.6is but not too sure about it lol although I've always wanted one.

I'm not sick of my EV... really glad I have one. Probably the best car I've every owned...
I suppose your perception relates to those in your circle who must be very different than mine...
For the record, I've been driving manual transmission Cooper S and JCW's... so I understand the pleasure of a tight engine and steering... yet, I'm glad to be done w/ gas for everything but my VW Campervan.

I'm a Miata fanboy and will be sad if they go EV, but at the same time my next daily will definitely be electric. Makes too much sense not to. (Especially since I have solar that's massively over-producing.)

My M4 is 1 of 17 in the color in the world. I sure hope it goes up in price .... Might sell it for a 911 then ... :P

I see the appeal, and I wouldn't mind one. I've driven a few Model S Plaids, felt what it is to drive a car that's faster than a $3 million dollar Bugatti personally I wouldn't mind a Model Y. Perfect balance imo. I do like the idea of essentially zero maintenance (oils, filters, spark plugs, etc) as well as zero emissions* (clean air, regardless if you believe in climate change or not). But I also do work on my own vehicles, and knowing that EVs are not serviceable by owners, sucks. Being forced to go to the dealer who are the only ones certified by the manufacturer to work on it, and being at the mercy of the manufacturer's hourly rate, again stinks. I remember $65 an hour labor rates... now Mercedes and others are up to $300 an hour! Insanity.

Got to drive this GTS T-Hybrid and it's simply amazing. Still wouldn't choose it over a GT3, but it's quite nice. Personally, the build quality and material quality of Porsche are quite good.
