Figure I would kick off the image thread here as I had the opportunity to shoot with the Z 135mm Plena tonight and I was really impressed. It's substantially lighter and faster to focus than my Z 85mm 1.2. I have my NPS order in and I have to say I think people are really going to love this lens.

I got to play a little bit with Plena today at Nikon Thailand Zf launch event.
While it is only around 100g lighter than 85/1.2, it actually looked quite a bit smaller and balance much better that it felt kind of light. May be I have been using 400/2.8S and 800PF too often now 1 kg lens is just light
Anyhow, over here, both Zf and 135 Plena will be available in store on October 12th so I will pick mine up in 2 days.
I was told NPS orders here in the States on the 135 will start being delivered next week. Not sure about the Zf. Like yourself, the weight and overall bulk was less when compared to the 85mm 1.2.
Eventually I’ll have figure out which one will I end up selling: the 85 or 135.

Countless thank you and applause to you. Thanks you so much for the links. I always refer to the thread when people ask. It is an invaluable resource for anyone who is looking for images taken with certain lens.

Picked mine up today and just ask the guy at the shop to step out in front of the store for some test shot right a round noon
Then I went shooting some birds with a couple of friends so not much chance of using the lens today much. If it is not raining tomororw afterwork, I will try to go out and test the lens a bit more.

Nikon's fast Z primes are exceptional. There is a size and weight -- not to mention cost -- penalty for owning and using them however. This is where I get stuck on lenses like the Plena -- how often will I actually want to use a 135 at f1.8 over the f4 or 2.8 on existing zooms? F4 at 135 is already a pretty thin DoF at the normal head and shoulder portrait distance I'd be using it for...

Congratulations on your new lens and camera. The Plena has me intrigued for sure. No way to shoot it on the Sony system so I will have to settle for the cheap imitation from Adobe for now.
At least my subject is nice to look at, but It's not fooling anyone. !

Right, for head and shoulders, f/4 to f/13 are suitable apertures. f/1.8 is useful for when you are shooting a full body shot and need to do it in low light, or need to clean the background to designate the main subject clearly, and to encode the distance (as progressively greater blur). Two dimensional image but with encoding of the third dimension.
