It seems your user-selected ISO must have been set to a higher value (800 or higher) and the camera's Auto ISO algorithm had to reduce it to achieve a correct exposure. 1/32000s is the camera's fastest shutter speed so it only reduced the ISO just enough. To rectify the situation, press and hold ISO and rotate the main command dial to set a new starting point ISO. Auto ISO only makes as little adjustment to ISO as possible to make it possible to expose the image correctly.

Very odd choice the camera made for exposure- Not sure why it would't prefer a much lower ISO value but will dig into that now-

Yea- That was it- I was reading more how Nikon implements this. I quite like it actually- Really enjoying the Z8 coming from Sony. Very different so far-

Really enjoying the Plena/Z8 combo. Its big but not a bother to carry. I am typically a smaller is better (thats why I love Leica) but this has been a pleasure to use.

So, after a long ordeal, to which this picture thread has contributed, I have also joined the Plena Club.
I simply wrote to various dealers and told them my personal price limit, pointing out that I had sent this request to several dealers I trusted in order to create a certain pressure to act, otherwise another dealer would do the deal.
This resulted in a fair deal in which I received a further €200 discount from the dealer in addition to the current €200 Nikon instant discount.
After all, I saved €400 on the actual EU RRP and the next price increase for Germany has already been rumored, so I couldn't resist any longer.
It will be a few days before I get it, but it already feels liberating.
The last time a lens tormented me so much was a long time ago, in the mid-80s with the Canon FD 85/1.2 L, which I still own today.
Considering that the Plena would have cost me €3,000 as an early adopter, the €2,300 I'm paying now, which includes 19% VAT, is a welcome reward for having resisted for so long.
I knew from the first minute that I couldn't win this fight, the only question was in which round I would be knocked out, that has now come.

The Plena is actually the reason I switched to Nikon- I was never happy with Sony- Just never enjoyed using the cameras/lenses and didn’t enjoy the overall experience-
I haven’t had much time with the Plena/Z8 yet but it’s an amazing piece of glass- Some of my favorites over the last 2 weeks of owning it.
ITs big but not unyielding-
You are going to love it!

Plena was delivered today, quite a beast.
Unfortunately, I only got around to the first, most necessary checks today.
Checked the centering and possible decentration, plus a few initial torture tests regarding color abberations and color fringing, as there were slightly different results in reviews regarding this point.
These ranged from the lowest values ever measured for this category lens @ f/1.8 (photographylife), to a few reviews where even at f/2.8 - f/4 slight traces could still be seen (Christopher Frost review)
The first tests have gone to my complete satisfaction, CA, LoCA even at the most brutal magnifications up to 400% I can't see even a hint of it.
There is also no decentration, at least not in a range where my eyes could still perceive it even at extreme magnification.
Further tests will have to follow at the weekend, but it is already clear that this lens is a keeper.
What an exceptional lens the Plena is, however, can already be said after the first short tests.
I mean, I'm spoiled by my other Z S lenses, or even my Apo-Lanthar, and I used to have high-end lenses like the 85/1.2 L already since the middle of 80s, but this is definitely in a completely new league for me.
I think Nikon has gone one step further here and the Plena is an example of what we will see in the future with exotic lenses due to the technical possibilities that the Z-mount offers designers.
This is definitely the next level, even compared to all my other Z S primes, compared to all my 24 lenses.
Apart from that, there was only time for a quick visit to my mother's grave and the grave rose, which is currently blooming so beautifully.
This could be combined, as the church tower had to be used for the first decentration test.
That Nikon calls the Plena even better than S-line and, in terms of the overall imaging performance, their best performing Z-lens to date, definitely doesn't seem like an exaggeration.

Random snapshots from yesterday's walk, with nothing to write home about.
Even after the first few shots I've been able to take so far, you can tell that this lens has something special.
It's just fun how the Plena at f/1.8 almost completely floors the gas pedal.
