I dont see this problem (selling chinese lenses) in Germany and where I sell gear. Usually I sell lenses in Buy/Sell area of a big german photography-forum or I use ebay (or the locol version "Kleinanzeigen"). When I sold chinese lenses it worked the same way (with quite simular procentages lost) than with japanese lenses.
Of course I would be glad Voigtländer would develope and sell a Nokton 28 f1.4 but they resist to do so!
In the category of fast 28mm primes (at least f1.4) you can buy the much more expensive Leica Summilux and you can buy a 7Artisans (with 160g more weight and 0,7m MFD). If you use a mirrorless camera you can buy a Laowa 28 f1.2, a nice lens, but also with a 0,5m MFD and 220g more weight). For sure, most of us will wait until there are some reliable informations about the optical qualities, but the mix of size/weight, aperature of f1.4, MFD of 0,4m are in this prizerange without competitor!

I also think only using KEH, B&H and Adorama as benchmark is a bit shortsighted.
These are companies that have fix costs which are the same for a $200 lens as they are for a $5000 lens.
In other words: it makes absolutely no sense for them to buy a lens for $120 to sell it for $150.
If you tried the same with cheap Japanese lenses like the Sony 28-70, Nikon Z 28mm 2.8 and similar ones the result will most likely be the same.

I've been repeatedly sharing my feedback with Cosina about this issue, but unfortunately, they haven't made any improvements to their new lenses yet.
Heck, I wish Cosina would update ANYTHING on their Zeiss ZM lineup. Yes, the 35 1.4 is great, but how about some refresh?

All the better for sunstars!
Kidding aside, I'm surprised that with all the apparent attention to design, they didn't feel the need to manufacture equally spaced aperture settings. The uneven spacing is typically a given with lower-end brands/models.
Honestly, after Cosina released the 28/1.5, I see no reason to have to deal with this type of quality control. However f/1116 is a first in aperture design.

I was asked to review their lenses but the whole process currently isn't running extremely smooth.
Was told the lenses were "ready to ship" last week, but as I see it, nothing has been shipped so far
and I doubt anything arrives before the Christmas holidays now, meaning I will not get to them before mid January.
