Price is bad comparing to other Chinese brands with way more track record, but a bargain if you take a look at the summilux. Let's see what happens with this one. I think you are going to be one of the first testers in the world, but I've reached people from Thypoch and I agree they tend to be a little too elusive. Maybe before Christmas we will find out if this 28 deserves all the credit. I hope so.

I wish for that, too. Hence I was hoping there are already some samples out there, that I have just missed.
I did contact them already, but nothing solid came out of it yet.
The lenses are probably a bit too pricey for me to just buy/preorder and hope for the best
(like I did with 7A 28mm 1.4 and Mr. Ding 50mm 1.1, which were/are less than half the price).
PS: I did sell my 7A 28mm 1.4 FE+ and sometimes I regret that. But then I remember why I sold it (weight, MFD, sunstars).

The MFD of the 28 1.4 is 0.4m. But adapted on a mirrorless it will not matter (using a close focus adapter) that much. Of course for main use on a Leica-M the Simera has a good MFD-advatage to the 7Artisans. The two other advantages are: 160g less weight and floating elements.

I wonder if these are measured or theoretical.
Also, just watched the video review you posted (thanks!). Interesting but when it was hard for me to weigh many of his comments--very subjective. I went back and watched his CV 35/1.5 review, a lens which I owned and shot. Didn't agree with his take much as all.
I'll probably give either the 28 or 35 a whirl once available.
I'm guessing computed. But even then, should give an approximation of what to expect if the actual lenses are close in overall quality/character.
Below are MTFs from the current Leica 28 and 35 Lux ASPHs, as well as the Thypochs:

That video is insufferable—so many regurgitated Leica cliches and so little content.

Look at the front group.
Maybe I wasn't specific enough: how can an 11/7 design be a simplified version of a 10/7 design?
Saying that makes absolutely zero sense.

Sorry I need to proof read better. For some reason I thought I put The 28 Lux looks like a slightly simplified version of the 28 also, which is what I meant. Edited.

I guess it's not just limited to their website text-based content, as I commented on the first page:

... after reading through all the marketing gibberish I have to wonder if there's a special copywriting school in China from which these lens companies hire their marketing staff? It's almost comical, the verbosity.

To be fair, pretty much everyone does this trying to sell gear. Whoever it is, whatever it is, you MUST GET IT as it will finally show you the truth. Which is why I use old film gear - my truth is when I’m happy I didn’t fog my Kentmere.

The lenses, both in black and silver, can now be pre-ordered from B&H Photo. I really hope to see more sample images because the ones from "Simera" don't show how well these lenses perform.

I can’t believe that font actually made it to production! The rest of the lens looks great.
The 28 1.4 is more interesting than the 35, as Voigtlander already has the 35 range covered at the same price point.
I’m actually surprised Voigtlander has not made a 28 1.4.

The only clue we have is the review of the 35mm by Generic Photographer on Youtube. What is difficult to understand is Thypoch's marketing strategy if the product is actually good.
