I am only interested in the 28 1.4. Actually a lens (with 330g) I Was long time hoping Voigtländer will develope. When the optical quality is as good as the 35 I will seriosly think about buying it.

It will be interesting to see what $700 buys with these lenses. The price is kind of in a gray zone, IMO. A bit pricy to just buy on impulse but at about 2x many of the other made-in-China models, suggests a better lens.

Looking forward to some user results. Anyone here planning to get these?

I am more than a bit spoilt for choice. How many 28mm and 35mm 1.4 lenses can one reasonably buy? I acquired the 7Artisans 28mm 1.4 on a whim, and I must say that I love that lens. Otherwise I am shooting GR3 at 28mm equiv. which works amazing as well.
For 35mm 1.4 I have had the Distagon for quite some time and large as it is I love it and find it difficult to pick up a smaller competitor. The 45mm Mamiya that I use on my GFX doesn't really hit the Distagon bar (yes I am saving for the Fuji 45mm!).

And indeed at $700 it's not an impulse buy. That would be somewhat in the direction of that 2nd hand 45mm Fuji GFX which would make much more sense for me and my wallet. Looking forward to some independent reviews.

I am interested in both, but especially the 28mm.

Things that I am hoping for but would be surprised by:

1) Excellent micro-contrast and color
2) Good coma correction
3) Not extreme optical vignetting.
4) Don’t need perfectly abstracted bokeh, but not coarse or ugly nervous at mid distance.

The 7Artisans 28mm 1.4 (FE) will get you there, or very close, at almost half the price...

Nice review of the 35.

Tough to find any samples or info from the 28, I don't know if it's been delayed or what.

Maybe I had a bad copy, but my copy wasn't that sharp till f2 (i.e. careful when putting your subject outside the center of the frame) and I found the colors and contrast a bit mushy. And unlike these new Semera lenses, it was bulky, had a long MFD and for heavily backlight situations I got a big ring flare often.

The positives were good bokeh in a most situations, price, coma correction and it was optimized with the Sony sensor stack.

yup that's right. and i'm sure that their QA team is not that picky! Oddly mine works best wide open even on GFX where vignetting is manageable...

14 aperture blades!

Shame the font and type is such a mess.

Petapixel shows the MTFs (the 28 has a floating element as well) and adds the info about delivery (mid december).

Seems like lots of money for lenses from a maker that's maybe 30 minutes old. They seem to pop up in the PRC like mushrooms in the forest after a rainstorm. And probably the same longevity.

Caveat emptor.

The Typoch 28 is very exciting, if the specs are anything to go by it will be a really unique option for it's price point.

I wonder if these are measured or theoretical.

Also, just watched the video review you posted (thanks!). Interesting but when it was hard for me to weigh many of his comments--very subjective. I went back and watched his CV 35/1.5 review, a lens which I owned and shot. Didn't agree with his take much as all.

I'll probably give either the 28 or 35 a whirl once available.

Interesting.

Not so much as a "cheap alternative", but it strikes me as a rendering that isn't quite up to the same level as a modern Leica ASPH, but between that and some vintage or pre-ASPH Leica (thinking about my 40 Cron).

14 aperture blades. Thinking this would play well on my monochrome for that more "organic" vibe. Head to head with my 35 Cron, the Cron might spank it on the MTF charts and microcontrast ... but, I don't think that's what catches my attention about it. It just seems a kiss more "organic" in rendering, without being overly soft. I don't usually get too intrigued by the "cheap" Leica knock-offs, but this one might be one to watch (along with the 28). I think their rendering harkens back just a smidge, even if it doesn't have the entirety of the "Leica look".

Almost a Leica + Oly, if that makes any sense (which it won't to most folks).

I will buy one of those 28mm. Good price for a 1.4 lens and apparently good features and nice rendering. Mid December is the estimated launch date for Europe, according from german suppliers.

Have you already seen any pictures taken with the 28mm?

Not yet, Bastian. I think there's no review of the 28mm yet. Actually I was hoping you'll be the first reviewer of that one. My take is based on the 35mm rendering and optical design. I could perfectly be wrong on this one and maybe the 28mm is a disappointment. I wish it is not, as I would love to get a 28mm 1.4 with close focusing.

I wish for that, too. Hence I was hoping there are already some samples out there, that I have just missed.
I did contact them already, but nothing solid came out of it yet.

The lenses are probably a bit too pricey for me to just buy/preorder and hope for the best
(like I did with 7A 28mm 1.4 and Mr. Ding 50mm 1.1, which were/are less than half the price).

PS: I did sell my 7A 28mm 1.4 FE+ and sometimes I regret that. But then I remember why I sold it (weight, MFD, sunstars).

While rendering may be different ... could liberate me from carrying my Q2, if optics are reasonable.

I don't need f/1.4, but ...
