Nice. I've been interested in this lens for sometime now. Mind posting a shot of it on your M9?

It kinda go well with the M9 steel grey two tone in reverse, just the lens has a lot more sheen to it. I thought the size will look ridiculous but since I got used to Q2 it feels similar. With the sharp and usable f1.4 I can shoot in the dark now. Love it!

Thanks for the photo! The size is my hesitation.

More thoughts after shooting with this lens for a while:
1) The focus nib position is not the same as Leica lenses, but it's well thought out that at 6 o'clock position it's at 2.3m or there about, which is what I usually set to when I shoot zone focusing - in fact I'm basically getting a 100% hit rate with f1.4 wide open (3rd picture above)!
2) The focus nib isn't as easy to locate as a tab when it's not set to infinity, so I habitually set it back to infinity after I put the camera down so I know where to reach for the nib. I did that with tabbed lenses anyway as I find it easy to pre focus with muscle memory.
3) The rendering seems cinematic to me especially the first one. Tonality is so rounded and rich!
It looks like a nice lens- You have some nice shots here with it for sure!
Honestly though its another new Startup lens maker- What one is next? How long are these people going to be around?
The handling looks pretty bad-
There are tons of other options from long time players in the market already that I think people prefer the handling and the look more. I don't dislike the look of this lens I just find other lenses, the Q3/Voigtlander 28 1.5 more appealing for me.
I just think its lost in a sea of to many options in the camera industry right now. To many good choices, a new player maybe shot itself in the foot a little bit, especially with the release of the Sony version saying it was the same optical formula and no modifications made.

I love the fact that it's cheap to own, and the rendering and color is what I was looking for. The handling is the main disadvantages but I mainly get it for the rendering alone, in fact the handling really isn't as bad as I thought.
I no longer set it to infinity when I put it away, instead I leave it at 6 o'clock position so I can locate the nib every time (and it's my go-to preset distance about 2m~2.3m). Below is an example of shooting from hip at that distance, didn't nail the focus wide open but still have that 3D pop. Definitely a reason to get 28mm than 35mm!

Has anyone had the opportunity to handle both an M-Mount version as well as one of the other versions yet?
I ordered and received the Z-Mount version, but quickly learned that focus confirmation with a Nikon ZF wouldn’t work, so I sent the lens back to exchange it for an M-mount, which will allow for focus confirmation when used with a TTArtisan 6-Bit adapter.
The Z-mount version’s build quality was impressive… very smooth focusing ring and delightfully-clicky aperture ring. The quality seemed on-par with my 40mm f1.4 and 50mm f2 Voigtlanders.
The M-mount version arrived this afternoon, and the overall feel is not the same. The focusing ring is a bit loose from the barrel - you can wobble it a bit. There was dust all over the front and rear elements.
The aperture ring isn’t as “nice” either… reasonably clicky in one direction, but less so in the other.
The box has signs of wear… so this could be a case of me being sent a copy that has previously been used, and then returned… but I’m curious to know the QC impressions of others who own the M-mount and/or those who have had an opportunity to handle both.
The non-M-mount versions were designed and released a bit later, so perhaps the differences are a function of iterative improvements by Thypoch.

My M-mount version (which I use on my Leica MP, Leica M7 and on my Nikon Z7 and Zf as well) is one of my favorite lenses ever. Top notch build quality. Also personally I love the handling, and of course, most importantly, the image quality is superb and the rendering just to my liking (also compared to my Cosina Voigtlaenders).

A new M mount copy should have a sealed box, there's clear plastic seal wrap when I bought mine. Raptor_Fan76 wrote:

Good day,
For the returned Z mount lens, was it a 28mm or 35mm, and would you by any chance remember the serial number?
Do people feel that the sharpness results are way better than expected? The adapted VM version is expected to have poor off-center performance even at modest apertures due to the thick sensor filter on the E and Z cameras. But these tests show that the border sharpness is already fine at f2-2.8. It surprising since as far as I hear the Z mount version doesn't have any modifications compared to the VM version to address the thick filter problem. Should one expect that the sharpness of the E mount version will perform as well as in these tests?

Been eyeing this lens for awhile now, mainly for its rendering and that "3d" pop. Finally picked one up and definitely did not disappoint. Definitely didnt expect it to be that sharp wide open, but wow! very impressed. Some quick snaps to test out lens, these were quick ones that i just transferred to my phone. A couple of them i did quick edit in LR mobile. Most shots were wide open, couple might be at f2. Cant remember lol. Shot using A7C with Techart Adapter
