We got some heavy snow fall yesterday and the Dark-eyed Juncos were going crazy around the bird feeder. It was a good opportunity to get a few snowy shots in. I'm kind of shocked I got so many in-focus shots, even though it was near impossible to see their eyes. Kudos Nikon! More samples located in my 180-600mm gallery.

I was so happy to be able to zoom out on this blue jay! They're fairly big birds, so even when I think they're far enough away, they still fill the frame at 600mm. While with most birds I feel like I need to use my 800mm PF, for the bigger ones even 600mm can be a little too much sometimes. I'm still very pleased with this lens. More blue jay shots at this link.

Super image!
Curious if the grain elevator is still in operation?
Thank you Charles. Glad you like it.
The Collingwood terminal was built in 1929 and has been inoperative for several decades. It is currently planned to be renovated and repurposed as waterfront hotel and condo development. The harbour you see in the foreground used to include the Collingwood Shipyards which built more than 200 Great Lakes ships between 1882 and 1986. The towns primary industry now is tourism and resort as a four season activity town on Georgian Bay and the Niagara Escarpment two hrs north of Toronto.

May be a silly question but is the Nikon 180-600 what the 200-600 was for Sony? I remember the 200-600 was praised for the reach and IQ.
I think that's a fair comparison. Steve Perry has a video where he compares the two lenses:
My overall take from reading online is that the two lenses are very similar.

Thank you for that. Very useful video. The 180-600 is a lens that you keep, even if you dont use it often but its price to performance definitely justifies owning it.
