Not sure of the time frame as to when this was resolved. I defer to your understanding of the situation. Interesting how this was one of those issues that was never clarified by Leica even after if was resolved. Perhaps some legal concerns on their part.

Leaked specs back a few posts show no IBIS, just the same lens-based OIS. The leaf shutter in the Q lens makes it pretty easy to shoot at slower shutter speeds. IBIS would have been nice, but they probably weren’t able to get it to fit.
Since there is no addition of IBIS, and the lens seems to be the same one from Q1 and Q2, so is it safe to assume that there won't be an improvement in the "hand-holdability" of Q3 because Leica would have maxed out the OIS potential after Q1 and Q2?
Perhaps those watching the images via social media won't tell the difference, and that can still be debatable...
But for the photographer using the canera, its a night and day difference, starting by the handling and operation of the camera. Not sure how much xtrans sensor has improved or even if xe4 has an xtrans sensor, but my experience with xt2/3 and x70, compared to Q was that they were not even close, but this you will only be able to tell when you edit your own files. And the Qv1 was not as robust as v2, I guess v3 will be the same or better than v2.

Just get a Fuji XE4 and one of many Fuji lenses and you’re done. Pair it with the Fuji 18f1.4 and nobody could tell the difference.

Did you have problems with handholding the Q2?
Don’t have Q2, but my Q1 sometimes had weird double image even at relatively “high” shutter speed of 1/30, whereas I could handhold my RX1R2 without IBIS or OIS down to 1/15.
So I really hope Q3 doesn’t have these issues, then it would be a perfect fit for me.

That issue was due to the ibis, i also suffered it, by disabling ibis it wouldn't happen. Which kind of kills the usefulness of it. Not sure if with Qv2 it was solved.

1/60 was my limit on the Q and Q2 both. Without IBIS, I can’t regularly hit shots slower than that handheld. Even with IBIS on the SL2-S, 1/15 sec is about my limit. But I don’t find this a “problem” with the Q cameras that needs to be “fixed”. I wouldn’t want the Q to weigh an ounce more than it does already.
By the way, 1/30 sec is a slow shutter speed regardless of stabilization. High vs low has to take into consideration subject movement, and 1/30 is super slow for that.

OIS issues were solved in firmware on the original Q toward the end. Some issues with OIS can be fixed with a full reset. But some people’s movements when they hit the shutter button don’t interact well with the Q OIS. For me, though, images were always sharper with OIS on.

I've had many cameras from Nikon, Olympus, Sony, none of them had this kind of weird "double image" at 160, 1/30, and 1/15. No firmwares ever fixed it for me.
These are not hand-movement or subject-movement induced problems, as other Q1 owners in our group did the same tests against many cameras. only Q1 would induce this kind of weird effect.
Given its inconsistency, sometimes it ruined some priceless shots.
I seriously hope Q3 doesn't have this issue anymore, as it was a perfect camera for me for street shooting, except this weird issue. Now Q3's flippy screen and weather sealing would make it even more unbeatable.
FMTopFan I've not experienced the OIS double image issue on my Q2. Here's a photo taken last month in the Caves of Arta at 1/25 sec. OIS was on Auto. The photo taken handheld at the top of a long climb of stairs. I'm 68 and was mildly winded ;-)
The XE4 has Fujis latest 26MP xtrans sensor, just like the Pro3 or the T4.
And the 18f1.4 is optically one of the most perfect lenses they’ve ever made.
I stand by everything I said whether you look at it on your phone or you print them big.
Someone at a gallery or a client won’t be able to see any difference. If you can’t edit photos properly, Give the raw file from the Fuji to a good editor and it’ll be magic.

Enjoy your Fuji! (but you do know this thread is about the Q3, not is Fuji a better choice, right?)
Fwiw I wouldn’t love the 18/1.4 super usable on an XE4 unless you also add the grip to it, which then makes it not any smaller. I suspect the Q3 will have noticeably nicer image quality, not to mention it’s in a different universe for build quality, though that XF18 is a very nice lens.

For those with the Leica Q or Q2 already and a mirrorless system, how do you feel about the size of the camera? Can you take it more places than say a Sony 24mm f1.4 or 35mm f1.4 and Sony A7R V (this is my current "small" setup) or not really? I've gotten tired of the size of my Sony camera system and want something more compact for travel but with the same top notch image quality and AF capability (I'm realistic that the Q3 might be a downgrade on this front even with phase detect).
I was set on ordering the Q3 but I unexpectedly got off the waitlist today for a X100V (will give it a try at a minimum) so I wonder if I'm better served with that camera. I prefer 35mm and full frame but can live with 28mm and/or APS-C and need good AF (Ricoh GR III and IIIx did not AF fast enough for my needs).
Also, I did not like the colors and ergonomics coming out of the RX1R II compared to more recent Sony cameras before someone suggests that.

I have the A7R5 & 35 1.4GM as well as the Q2. I can carry either just fine but of course the Q2 has a size and weight advantage. I feel a lot more comfortable with the Q2 doing street photos. The Q just doesn't get the attention of the Sony or even my M10-R or M for that matter.
You may experience extra attention with young folks when sporting your new X100V (if the silver color). As you know the X100V is a TikTok celebrity. When you're out and about maybe you can video some impromptu emo dancing ;-)
