What: Blue-striped Garter Snake

When: probably 1984

Where: J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area, Fl

Film: Kodachrome 64

Camera: Nikon F4

Lens: Don't know. It could have been a 105 micro Nikkor, or any of the EDIF 300's (2.8 or 4)

___________

An edit, 3 days after the thread was started:

Please post images that were recorded on any type of film/transparency (at any ASA) and converted to digital by any means.

I think we are all curious to know what tools/techniques you used to digitize the original film.

I checked the EXIF box on this snake image, and the model number of my Nikon scanner was imbedded below the image.

I suspect the Nikon ES-1 or ES-2 and a digital camera do as good a job as the Nikon scanner. But I do not know for certain if this is true, because I have not yet digitized any with the ES 1 or 2 and a camera.

I wonder if some guys have noise in some of their images after converting them to digital.

Thanks.

Good job!

I'll have to try converting some of mine to B/W

I am repeatedly drawn back to those Cape Buffalo, especially the look given by the one on the left

I once had a couple of those 300 f4 EDIF's at different times before affording the 300 2.8's.... all manual focus of course.

BTW not 100% sure but am I doing this correctly. Am I to "post" images that were shot on film but scanned using a digital camera?

The one above I used the ES-2 rig and my then D850.

Regardless I love what everyone is posting. My film images never looked as good as any of yours. Makes me want to revisit film.

Hi

Yes, please post images that were recorded on any type of film/transparency (at any ASA) and converted to digital by any means.

I think we would all like to learn the tools/techniques used to digitize the original film. The EXIF data of my image of the snake happens to show it was scanned with a Nikon scanner. I do not believe it does any better job than the ES-1 or ES-2 and a digital camera. But I do not know for certain if this is true, because I have not digitized any with the ES 1 or 2 and a camera (yet).

Does that help you? I think I should copy/paste some of this in the opening post. Thanks.

Well, scanned means acquired with a scanner, I guess
My slides were scanned years ago by using a SuperCoolscan 5000 ED (still working) with SF-210.

Yes, that is what I mean.

Thanks for updating the images you posted so far.

After you posted those Cape Buffalo I googled "Cape buffalo tossing lionesses". Incredible power! They make it look as easy as tossing rags into the air.

And it is moving to see a group of Cape buffalo force lionesses off a buffalo they've taken down. NatGeo calls the Cape Buffalo a "temperamental tank to anything that bothers it."
