I am happy for you. As I get older and my eyes weaken, I can use all the latest tech from mirrorless, be it the bigger fonts for EVF (Fuji GFX), focus peaking for TSE lenses to align the focus plane where I want, EVF gain when shooting in the dark studio, eye AF when nailing focus at f1.2 and so on.

Interesting.
I don't photograph auroras, but I do a lot of night photography — tripod-based long-exposure night photography of "industrial landscapes" and handheld night street photography.
I use a DSLR for the first of those, and the availability of live view has been a godsend. When photographing in darkness it can be extremely difficult to see anything in the OVF, but with exposure simulation enabled I often get enough of an image on the live view display to be able to compose and manually focus more accurately.
With night street photography the same thing is usually true — I switch from the OVF on the camera that I use for this to the EVF so that I can see my subjects better in the video display.
Night vision impairment doesn't seem to be an issue. With the tripod-based work I typically set up and compose/focus with the live view display, but then I don't keep staring at it.
