Oddly enough the adapter sets my Leica 28/1.4 Lux as a 75mm lens. It works fine with the 28/2 Cron II though.
I guess they didn't really go through all Leica codes when writing the firmware.

Hi Fred,
I have removed and reapplied the 6 digit code to my CV 28mm f2 Ultron II several times to Leica M 28mm f2 Asph. I have obviously made an error as the lens will not read at least by 1 of my 2 adapters. For now, I have removed the coding and am just setting the adapter focal length wheel to 28mm. I did have success in marking my Zeiss 35mm f1.4 Distagon ZM to Leica M 35mm f1.4 and my CV 90mm f2.8 Apo-Skopar to Leica M 90mm f2.8 Elmarit. Perhaps my first template from Steve is too torn up with the divisions to get my additional attempts at marking my CV 28mm Ultron II properly positioned.
I am still waiting for my Novoflex 6 bit encoded Leica R to Leica M adapter to be delivered. It finally arrived in at LAX and has passed through ISC LOS ANGELES CA on Friday, June 17 at 6:58 pm . I do not anticipate purchasing from the eBay seller in the future. I hope that it is in the condition claimed as he does not accept returns. I will fill everyone in once I have it in hand as to what the TTartisan Leica M to NEX 6 bit adapter recognizes and how well it works with my remaining Leica R 180mm f3.4 Apo-Telyt, Leica R 80-200mm f4 Vario Elmar, and Leica R 28mm f2.8 Super Angulon PC lenses.

But which code will you apply to a 180mm lens or an 80-200mm zoom?

I do not believe that the adapter will recognize the code as a Leica M240 camera will. I suspect that the adapter will not recognize the code at all. I suspect that I will have to set the focal length wheel of the Adapter to 135mm (hopefully it will register that focal length) and I can at least record the aperture of the images. Providing the adapter will record the 135mm, it will at least give me a clue as to the focal length and lens used (I also have the very old Leica M 135mm f4 Tele-Elmar, V1 but I do not use it often). I normally know what lenses that I am carrying with me on a day. Additionally, since I have the Novoflex ASTAT Leica R to NEX ring with the Arca Swiss type plate built in, as I understand it it will also fit the Novoflex Leica R to Leica M adapter for mounting the lens and camera to my Arca Swiss type QR clamps which will provide much better support and stability (with the hopefully additional benefit of recording the aperture used).

Ok, the Novoflex 6 bit Leica R to Leica M adapter was delivered a few hours ago via USPS from Tasmania. First, I am not happy with the eBay seller. He sent the item a week late due to a sick cat. Then and I knew he was sending the package Standard International Post which was shown by USPS as 1st class mail. The seller just put the adapter in the plastic Novoflex box and threw it into this large plastic Standard International pouch (without even any padding or bubble wrap) and he charged me $50 Australian Dollars which was shown on both the receipt that he sent to me and confirmed on the package for $24 Australian Dollars (so he charged more than twice as much for shipping as it cost). It took just a day shy of 3 weeks to get here after it was shipped.
I mounted the adapter onto both the TTartisan 6 bit Leica M to NEX adapters and to my Leica R 180mm f3.4 -Telyt lens. The adapter fits the lens with just a very slight amount of movement, but like all of the lenses fits both TTartisan to NEX adapters tightly. The seller will not accept returns. I am not sure at this point whether the marks on the back of the Novoflex 6 bit Leica R to Leica M adapter were there originally or from the tightness of the mount, but I expect due to the tight fit that marks will be made on the adapter or are there now from mounting and switching adapters. The seller listed the adapter as Very good or almost new. I will leave eBay condition for adapter as E+, which was not the condition of my mint condition Novoflex Leica R to NEX adapter that I sold and shipped from the FM boards about the same time as the "new" Novoflex adapter was shipped.
What I have found, first, my Novoflex Leica ASTAT-NEX ring (probably in the original batches in the USA from years ago) with the Arca Swiss QR plate built in does not fit the Novoflex Adapter which I was under the impression should from an article on-line as well as on the Novoflex website, but maybe the newer slightly modified adapters will. But, due to how close the lens release is located I am not sure how it would attach adequately.
As mentioned, the fit of the Novoflex 6 bit Leica R to Leica M adapter is quite tight with both of my TTartisan adapters (and I expect marks either have or will be made). The whole assemblance of the lens with both adapters is a good fit. I am a little concerned about using the combination without support under the lens (moving the center of gravity) from the L bracket, particularly with my A7rII Kolari Vision UT sensor modified camera. It will proably be OK, but I would probably be less concerned if both adapters and the lens were mounted on my A1 or even my A7rIII.
I mounted the 6 bit Novoflex Leica R to Leica M adapter onto I believe both TTartisan 6 bit Leica M to NEX adapters. I do not believe that the TTartisan 6 bit Leica R to Leica M adapters recognized the 6 bit encoding of the Novoflex adapter. I had both adapter focal length wheels set to 135mm and the A7rII Kolari Vision UT sensor camera recorded the set up as 135mm and f1.0. When the Leica R 180mm f3.4 Apo-Telyt lens was mounted onto both adapters (with the focal length wheels set to 135mm) to the camera, the camera registered the lens as set with the focal length at 135, aperture of the lens as f1 and I could set the apertures of the camera to the lens settings.
So, though I do not have the support for the combination that I would have liked at least at present, if I set the focal length wheel of both of my TTartisan 6 bit Leica R to NEX adapters, I can at least record the aperture set for the lens even though I can only have the focal length set and recorded to 135mm. I will however need to remember which lens was being used, but I do not normally carry more than 1 option of my Leica R 180mm f3.4 Apo-Telyt, Leica R 80-200mm f4 Vario Elmar, or my very old Leica M 135mm f4 Tele-Elmar V1.

I have noticed increase vignetting when using the TTA 6 bit adapter. Anyone else noticed it compared to other M-E adapters?
Only lens I noticed it with is the MS-Optics 135mm 2.4, but that issue has been solved by the help of a Dremel in the meantime:

The TTAtrisan shop shows the adapter as "sold out".
Does this mean EOL?
Maybe someone has more detailed informations.
In the meantime I know the reason for "sold out".
There's a new version of this adapter availible with USB for FW updates, all black, a clickable focal length dial and a fl reset button.

Oh how great it would be if the software would allow to set custom Focal Length/Aperture combinations for the different dial steps...
I agree, and I hope that future software updates will enable TTArtisan to expand their list of compatible lenses. In the past, there were a few Leica lenses that I own that were not compatible with the previous version.

I agree too, especially if the app allowed the user to assign an arbitrary lens name. Useful for people who use the adapter with non-Leica lenses and a second adapter. I am pessimistic in thinking that, having bought the Mark II, this will be a new feature on the Mark III.
My Mark I adapter sometimes had difficulty reading the codes (marker pen on white sticky labels) on my 21mm and 24mm lenses, but the new Mark II adapter read them correctly first time. My reaction is that the adapter is a significant improvement, not least because of the "Reset" button, that causes the adapter to read the code/dial setting.
I would heartily ask anyone here, who is interested in TTArtisan to provide a software for user defined Exif data, to contact and annoy them.
I already did, but they said it isn't planned yet. If enough people annoy them, maybe that can sway the decision.
Links to their Facebook and Instagram Accounts are at the end of my review.

I tried the Z-mount version at a local store with a new z30 but the adapter seemed dead on arrival. Very tight fit to mount on the camera. Couldn't set any focal length, and camera wouldn't allow me to take a photo (only one copy in store).
Bought the VM close-up adapter and it fits perfectly, albeit adding more weight and cost than I was expecting
p.5 #19 · TTartisan Leica M to Sony E adapter with 6-bit code
It doesn't but I needed a working adapter for a z30 I bought as I had no native lenses for it.
The camera must have recognised contacts on the adapter but it wasn't transfering info to the body so the camera wouldn't release the shutter. I don't think it can function as a dumb adapter on a Z body as instead of choosing 'shoot without lens' Nikon seems to decide automatically, and allow shooting with a dumb adapter.

I recently got the Version II of this adapter, and it’s definitely an upgrade. I’m a fan of the new all-black design -- it looks sleek!
Despite the update in functionality, it remains impressively light at just 40 grams. The fit with my Sony A7R II UT is flawless, and there’s no play with my M-mount lenses. The new reset button is handy for quickly switching focal lengths, and I appreciate the option to upgrade the adapter's firmware via USB-C.
However, I haven’t found any software or upgrade path information from TTArtisan on their website yet. If anyone knows, please let me know.
