Is the LCD size (not resolution) of X2D same as that of the X1D? Trying to figure out if the same LCD protector would work for both.

It is, but based on some Facebook group discussion, the new LCD protectors have a cutout for the 'notch' of the viewfinder.. which I think is slightly different now to accommodate the flip out screen.

I'm waiting for the new ones, but I imaging with some patience and an exacto knife you could make the current ones fit.

For now I have left the shipping protector on the camera. Just cut the little tab off. I can wait until someone makes one for it, although I never got around to doing it on my previous bodies and they're all still in perfect condition.

Getting use to the camera more. Went to a 50'th and took the 30, 55 and original 90. Was pleasantly surprised at how snappy the 90 felt in normal indoor light. I have no doubt the new 90 will be faster but the XCD is perfectly usable. Didn't use the 30 all night though.

Keen for them to get the in camera crops back in action. Didn't realise how much I used them on the X1D. Even more desirable with the resolution and that glorious viewfinder.

As a walk around system with a couple/few lenses I am noticing the X2D is bigger/heavier. Not by much but the X1D and 45P feels close to an AF M. Not the X2D. At the same time the usability has gone through the roof.

Saw a rumor on FB that up to 10 new lenses in the next two years......

Hi, does anyone know what camera strap clips are compatible with the x2d or any straps?

You can use any normal strap with the included quick release clips HB provide in the box.

It uses Type A connectors like these: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/153014-REG/OP_TECH_USA_1301022_System_Connectors_Set_of.html

Was it just me or was it painful to watch him take so long, too long to frame and take each photograph, and as for his comment that the new X2D is not a street photographers camera, I can shoot my X1D2 body and XCD lenses just as fast as my M10M and M lenses, and I expect to shoot faster with the new X2D and faster and lighter new XCD V lenses. Add in the more accurate Hasselblad color science and overall superior image quality from the 100MP mini medium format sensor vs a 35mm FF sensor, combined with the new IBIS flexibility puts it over the top for my needs.

I kind of got the point he was trying to make. But yes, with more time i think he'd get up to a completely usable speed. Certainly as usable as an M and close in manual focus use and zone focusing. Maybe he's the type that relies on the Sony AF speed.

Could be worse. The photos were nice. It could have been the new one from Matt Granger who has conclusively proved the X2D can take bad photographs. A Nikon 200m f2 on the X2D review? Maybe others will like it. I found it painful to watch.

I have seen and tried quick shots with the new X2D 100C with XCD 55 yesterday. I am pretty much impressed with HB. I am now in Korea and wondering if I purchase them here in Korea. With the ever strong dollar now, I can order them at a some lower price than in USA. Only question is if the after service be covered in USA when I purchase them here in Korea. X2D 100C and XCD 55 will be available in about 6 six weeks, they say.

Reach out to the importer. Here in Oz all repairs basically get shipped to Sweden anyway. My macro blew a main board and went on a one month holiday to Europe. Still months better than Leica though.

I just had the AF motor of an S-lens replaced from the US. Two months, same as before. I had read somewhere that it was 3-4 months now but that (at least in my case) was not the case.

Communication with Leica US has significantly improved though. Previously they simply did not return emails, voice messages, etc. That seems to be a thing of the past.

4 months for Leica is normal here. I had a 90mm Summarit away for 9 months. No local repairs on digital M, SL, CL or S. All gets shipped to Germany. Biggest delays are that it does go through a local repair agent both ways. Send it in and it might take six weeks to get on a boat to the motherland.... M lenses and calibrations are usually a few weeks to a month.

HI, any recommendations on which brand/model uv filters and polarizer filters for the hassy lenses that won't screw up or change the colors out of the x2d?
thanks

Hasselblad X2D 100C shots of test targets and shadow recovery
I have placed a whole set of Test Target shots taken with the X2D 100C and the XCD 120/3.5 Macro in the attached album on flickr (LiNK). All shots lit with Profoto B10X plus and octabox:

-- ThorLabs Positive 1951 Test Target 3x3 taken at ISO 64 and apertures from f/3.5 to f/45
@2014 DGK Color Tools test target - shot at f/8 and various ISO levels with exposure control by varying flash power output and shutter speed
-- Datacolor Spyder Checkr at f/8 with Iso set from 64-25600 - exposure controlled by varying power of flash output.
-- IEEE Reflection Resolution target shot at constant ISO 64 and apertures from f/3.5 to f/45
-- DGK Color tools Target deliberately significantly under exposed at ISO 64 f/16 1/2000th, exposure recovered in Phocus 3.7 and LRC, and compared to an exposure taken with ISO 1600
-- Datacolor Spyder Checkr deliberately significantly under exposed (7 2/3rd stops) at ISO 64 f/8 1/100th, exposure recovered in Phocus 3.7 and LRC, and compared to an exposure taken with ISO 12800.

Only minor toning and leveling applied no noise reduction or additional sharpening applied.Unless noted otherwise, only minor WB/toning and leveling applied no noise reduction or additional sharpening applied.

Not only that, but the color photos were pushed way too far. I caught myself making an "ewww" face every time. The b&w's he made looked great.

Sure seemed to take him a long time to shoot what I assume was spot AF. Maybe just new to the system? IDK.

Breakthrough Photography filters are probably the best, followed by Zeiss T* or B+W Master. Don't order any of them from Amazon if you want to actually receive a genuine product. For Breakthrough, order direct from their website, for the others order from B&H or Adorama.

But for polarizer, I would go only with a linear polarizer and not a circular polarizer (CPL). Linear – turn the ring to adjust intensity. CPL – turn the ring to adjust the angle of effect, which can be strange in some situations. So for a linear polarizer, Heliopan is probably the best.

I'd also check out Kase Wolverine magnetics, which I've found to be very color neutral. There are numerous reviews online. Here's one comparison of numerous filters by Vieri Bottazzini who prefers H&Y filters - https://www.vieribottazzini.com/2021/08/best-filters-for-landscape-photography.html
