The Z9 was thrown into revenue service on day one when it arrived in the middle of January and it really performed admirably in the post season when state titles were on the line and those of us in the media need reliable gear and excuses just don't get it.
Sports writers require action of star athletes, images specific to content and occasionally a coach.
Some examples:
Excellent set Lee, and from such a wide variety of native and adapted glass. :-)

The Z9 is the most versatile piece of photographic equipment I have ever owned.
The camera does whatever I ask it to do, and in my profession, I go where I am told to go and am expected to produce.
In the studio, in an auditorium, at the ball field or on the ice....I get results from the Z9.
So far, the image that has impressed me the most is the one of the orchestra conductor from a musical last night. She was in near total darkness in the pit but the Z9 was able to find her eyes and part of her face lit by the stage lights and find focus.
In the past, I never would have attempted that shot.

Nice! You could perhaps have kept the shutter speed a bit slower in some of the indoor images? That would have helped with ISO. Not that 8,000 is problematic, but the lower the better.

This scene was giving the Z9 fits. The camera hunted and refused to find focus. I know it’s a lower contrast scene but this was surprising for this camera… which has been stellar over the past 5 weeks and 10,000+ images.
Also, if your wondering, like me, “why 1/10,000 of a second?”…. My wife likes to steal my camera and while attempting to set the camera to 1/1000 as I suggested… added an extra 0. 🤦🏼♂️ That’s what I get for not checking settings when I get the camera handed back to me!!

I didn’t change lenses due to the weather but it was bizarre, camera kept throwing fits hunting as if there was zero contrast in the scene. It was like a D70 possessed my Z9 for a brief moment…
