A few BBIF (baseballs in flight… lol) Some more photos of my sons last tournament this past weekend. All shot with the Z9 and 70-200z lens (except for the trophy shot). CC welcomed and appreciated. Thanks for the look.

Finally got a Z9; the weather has been poor but I just really wanted to test the camera out today with my 500PF. Grabbed it when I ran out the door, and on my way home I swung by a favorite spot for early Spring ospreys and eagles... Not many birds in view for the few minutes I parked, but I thought this tree was interesting!
I really do enjoy shooting landscapes at 500mm!
Maybe next time there will be an osprey feeding on a nice fresh channel catfish from that middle branch

Thanks. I used Wide Area L with subject detection turned off. This bird is way too fast for any 3d/auto area af or subject/ eye af to work. Wide L without subject detection works almost like group area AF and that works best for unpredictable action situations like this one.

Excellent
What about a3
I read it is better to keep it at normal (Not erratic)

I keep the lock on sensitivity setting to default-3 and subject motion to erratic. When I photograph action with subject detection turned on, then I use sensitivity setting of 5.

Thanks! These are lovely little birds; truly nature's work of art! Females and juvenile males are rufous in color. While the female birds do not have such long, ribbon like tails, Juvenile males have a black head and rufous/cinnamon colored body/ long tails and as they grow they turn completely white and their tail keeps getting longer.
