Day 2 - grabbed my brand new 70-200 2.8Z to take some shots of the kids…. Aaaand I have a dead battery. I charged it before shooting yesterday but must have left my 80% full camera on overnight. Apparently active GPS and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth is enough to drain the battery. 🤬🤦🏼♂️

Love everything about the Z9…. Other than the battery dying on me yesterday 🤦🏼♂️. One thing that bugs me is the low frame rate the Z9 viewfinder displays until you half press the shutter.

Slowed down a bit. Some night photography with the Z9. Nothing other Zs wouldn't be able to do - but I treat this as an 'all around' body. Lit up buttons are super handy. I shot quiet a lot today - yet I still have 66% battery left.

I had gotten very proficient with panning at low shutter speeds with my D500 and 500PF. The slightly longer and 1.25 extra pounds of weight has been a noticeable change to adjust to. Still some adjusting to do but these weren't bad. Shot in 3D AF mode, all shot at 1/320
This was yesterday at Bombay Hook NWR at 10 min after sunrise. The Z9's AF in lower light has been great.
The Bufflehead is a duck that can fly straight out of the water, this one apparently likes to run along the water.

The Z9 eye tracking through foreground objects like these reeds has been remarkable as well.

I'm sure this is a battery "saving" "feature"... anyone know if you can disable it so we get 60FPS at all time in the viewfinder?
