@rscheffler. When I go hiking I take primes but want to stick with 24-xx zoom for most shots. It seems the 24-105 for Sony FF is a popular choice and I know it’s capabilities.
Did you find your FF 21 wide enough. I wish the New 16-35/4 from Sony would be available before my 1st trip.

Which body are you shooting on? With the higher res bodies (40mp+) I‘m relatively comfortable doing 1.5x crops. Enough pixels left for printing and everything else.
In that case I‘d argue in favor of the 15mm as you could crop to the 21mm perspective.
Also gives you more options to avoid skewed buildings by keeping the camera level and cropping in (a 1.5x crop basically gives you a 15mm APS-C lens with +/-4mm „shift“)
A7R3... so cropped is still plenty of resolution for my needs. I like the idea of bringing the 15 and cropping into the low 20s if needed. I've got some options here.
I took a couple pics with the lox 21 today for my son's easter egg hunt, thinking about this thread. I don't know what it is, but I just always enjoy the way the pics turn out through that lens.
