Need to get out more, but beyond expectation I just got the lens (the new price was steep for me, and still needed to collect some spare money.
This is only the third used copy i've seen yet, and it was 2300€ (new 2800€), someone stopping hobby altogether. Didn't think twice, immediately reserved it. Need more testing (seems hard in tele to get to get everythign in focus in a street) but the sharp shots are really sharp and weight is low, focus is amzing, etc
I now officially have the trinity Ready to rock in Switserland trip later this year.

While in Idaho last week, more snow started falling just as some field mice were coming out from under their burrows under the snow. I happened to have my 70-200 with 1.4x on and got a few of this little guy.

Nice! I paid a similar price for mine and couldn't be happier with the find

It's that time of year again... This is by far my favorite tulip lens. Both photos taken at the Boston Public Garden earlier this week wide open with the A9 at 200mm

Quick question for those who have this lens. I carry my 100-400GM on a Peak Design capture clip on my sling bag strap. I removed the Sony tripod foot from the lens and screwed in a PD square plate and it works just great, as I can move the lens from a tripod or monopod and then to the PD clip so easily. Plus without the foot, the lens fits in my smallest sling bag. I am interested in the Sony 70-200 f2.8 II, but can’t seem to find any confirmation that the tripod foot is removable and has a threaded hole for the standard PD plate to screw in like it does on the 100-400GM. Your response is appreciated!

It does! That's how I often carry my 70-200GMII!
I actually find that it works a lot better than the 100-400GM. I never enjoying having that on my shoulder strap.

Yes the foot is removable, and yes it has the threaded hole for the PD plate attachment. In fact that is the most common way I travel with this lens.
With the 1.4 TC it does everything the 100-400 does under most circumstances. On my A1 with crop mode it is basically a 392mm f/4 lens with superb IQ. This makes it a fantastic long travel lens.
