It appears the lenscoat has a seperate piece that does not need to be installed over the aperture ring. The section is about 3/8" wide from what I see in the photos. Maybe someone can confirm??

Historically, when I have shot portraits, I always preferred my primes to any 70-200mm f2.8's (Nikon, Canon and previous Sony versions). The GM Version II changed all that. This lens is amazing.
