Great pictures again!!! Fabulous work.
May I ask whether you used a flash for the last two portraits? I'm thinking about integrating flash photography into my process. Your pictures, if a flash was being used, could finally drive my decision as well But probably its natural light only.
Thanks again for sharing your wonderful photos!
Thank you very much! Everything I've posted here has been natural light as using a flash tends to make people stiffen up in these scenarios where they aren't used to having their picture taken. I also tend not to attempt photos where the lighting is poor and I move people to better spots where I prefer the lighting and background. For these two I lucked out and didn't have to move them at all.

Great shots from Ketang and Turbodude! Some real bangers in there. This is a fascinating lens and it doesn't seem like people are falling out of love with it or getting tired if it. Tamron really nailed it.

They sure did. There really is nothing quite like it

Just back form one of my older brother's 75th birthday. I can't really post many photos as it was a private family event but suffice into say I really do believe that this makes for the ultimate event lens. combined with the A1 the results are truly exceptional for a zoom. it renders beautifully, is sharp wide open, focuses swiftly and accurately and is just a joy to use

Been mostly shooting primes, and not much in general, lately but picked the tamron back up this weekend and, man, the raaaaaange . Had some nice light (though a bit too "summery" for photos) so decided to push the bokeh a bit.
There definitely still is a place for primes (for bokeh purists at least, even cleaner inner structure and less cats eyes balls), but once you get used to the sheer seize and weight of the Tamron, it's really difficult to put it down .

j4nu: The sun shining through the leaves at 35 mm f2 and the dog at 150 mm f2.8 are nice. As was already noted, https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1712652/53, good IQ at 35 mm f2 and 150 mm f2.8 make the Tamron so useful and special: .
One of the top 10 topics on the Sony forum at the moment is: "Lens recommendations for shooting a concert?" I thought of suggesting Tamron 35-150, but I am afraid that this lens remains an unconventional and controversial choice for most Sony users. It might be difficult to get hands on this lens on a short notice anyways.

Thanks, a lot of the pictures I post because I want to show how Tamron handles that specific scene, not particularly because the photo itself is great ...
Agreed on the concert recommendation, I'd also add, even though it sounds like blasphemy, I think the Tamron is the fastest focusing lens I have. It's definitely faster than 24 & 35 and on a similar level as 50 & 135 GMs...

I really really love this lens. It's just so versatile if you're only interested bringing one lens to certain things. I took this to my little one's kindergarten graduation yesterday and was very pleased with the focal range as it allowed for many portrait focal lengths but still provided enough reach to snap some good shots of the kiddos on stage too.
Here are some shots of a deer that visited a nearby park recently. As always, click through for better resolution. DSC02316
