I was always a fan of the Pentax-m 40mm, so this and z6 are almost like coming home. Body and lens are each twice as thick.. but the weather protection is better than in 1985
The 40/2 usually makes it into my travel bag.
When not carrying my 14-30 and I need to go wide I shoot in pano mode.
These were taken 30mins apart as blue-hour progressed.

You beat me to it - thanks!
The Z6ii is a fabulous sensor for hand-held low light work.
I let the ISO drift up to 3200 and then apply some noise rediction in Lightroom.

Thanks Siphiwe.
Taking the photo was the easy bit. Most of the prep work was in Flickr and Google maps.
I took some time looking at other people's images and working out where they were taken from in order to create a wish-list of similar viewpoints.

You made it sing, Colin, as usual. They were worth the wait.
Editing some images from my Japan trip in 2023. This one was taken with the Z7, the 40mm and some sort of mist filter.. I think it's the K&F shimmer diffusion..
I've been playing with my ZF and 40/2SE for a few weeks now. I have mixed feelings about the lens. It's what I've been doing most my shooting with (also have a few adapted/manual/3rd party lenses), and I've been getting somewhat inconsistent results with it. I initially chalked it up to learning Nikon after several years away, but after some "testing" yesterday, I confirmed that it's mostly the lens. Wide open, I have gotten a bunch of photos that I really like on initial look- but if I punch in to 100% it looks awful. F2 is so soft compared to just about every other low-cost prime I've had in the last decade, but F2.8 is completely different.... Hmmmm
Now that the 40mm f2 has been around for quiet some time, anyone has any issues with its durability considering the minimal build? I have been loving my lens so far!
