Lovely look to these! I’m getting ready to buy this lens again.
I sold my 40/2 Non-SE with my Z6II when I sold that.
I figured I really enjoyed this lens. So when I picked up a Z5II ... I also purchased a 40/2 SE for my ZF lol
I really do enjoy bringing this compact setup with me along with the Z 26/2.8
I keep coming back to images taken from this lens and keep feeling that I didn’t give it enough time. I think I’ll pick up another one soon… I wish Nikon did a 50/1.8 in the SE treatment. I use the 50’s a ton.

I'll be honest with you ... I am a 50/85/105 fan. It's usually what I go for.
but like I said above .. I love this lens as an Every Day Carry ... I sold it then got it again lol. I think im keeping the SE tho.
Something similar is happening to me. I had this lens and I sold it because I didn't like the feeling in the hand, but I liked the output, and sometimes I see those pics and this threat... Maybe I'll buy it again.
I love the 28/2.8 SE as that focal length usually works really well for me for walkarounds. But the 40/2 SE also has appeal, I just need to learn how to see and compose better with 40mm. And I like a full stop faster than the 28. For me it has to be the SE versions, they hit the right nostalgic buttons as a longtime Nikon shooter. I have my 3rd 40/2 on the way (SE).
