I noticed last week that I can click the "Turn on Lens Profile" button in LR and it actually corrects the images from the 40mm f2, which is strange as I thought this did not do anything for Z lenses in LR since the profile is undefeatable. Anyone else notice this?

I concur. I am on Lr 12.0.1
The 40/2 appears pre-populated in the lens profile box and I can turn it on and off.
My 14-30 and 24-70 are blanked out. No Z lens entries in the pull down menu at all.
Kind of a half-way house.

Love the look of the SE lens! Wouldn’t want to shoot it on a DX Z FC, but would 100% get it over the original 40/2 if I was in the market.
Well, I use the original 40 on my z50 and have taken it hiking. It’s a fine 60mm equivalent so works well in both sensor types. My Z50 kit is for hiking and travel and this makes a fine, light prime for low light and portraits. I can wrist strap the Z50 and any of these three light lenses for a 1 or 2 hr hike without issue.

I just meant that I have no interest in shooting at 60mm, ever, at all

Does look like a nice lightweight combo.
I am with Gerry.
The 40/2 on a Z50/5/6/7 body makes for a nice, unobtrusive, lightweight, one-handed combo.
Just wish I could get my mojo back to go out and shoot.

I enjoyed the 40mm on my Z50 a lot for my nieces wedding in France this summer for just that - casual portraits of family and guests. I had most of my other gear with me but she had hired a local pro and I wanted to enjoy myself as guest rather than being an “uncle Bob”.
