Lucky you! I have seen Cirque Du Soleil shows on three occasions but never with a chance to use a camera! The Z6ii is absolutely perfect for this genre and the 40mm 2.0 of course!

Thanks Mary. Second row seats helped!
The images were from the pre-show activity. No photpgraphy allowed during the actual perfomance.
Colin,
Yep, you were lucky! No pre- allowed at the shows here. Really enjoying your night shots and sure wish the Z6II had been around when I was in London. Oh well, maybe we will be able to make it across the pond some day!

Mary, it wasn’t London. I was in Orlando at the time.
Didn't realize this was in the US, I just assumed it was in Europe! My bad. Glad you got to do a pre-show. No cameras allowed inside or outside the venues when I went to CDS shows here several years back and film was still king. I mentioned London as that is the only place I have been in Europe. Twice, and both times on business with no time to take the images I would have liked. It was 2005 and I was using my first digital camera, the Cannon 20D and one kit zoom. Noise was a big issue for night shots or low light and my site seeing was after work hours. The wonderful low light images you and the Z6ii have been making over the past months are awesome. I was just wishing my Z6ii was around in 2005! I really want a do over!

I have been on the fence about keeping my Z7ii because I’m having a tough time keeping 2 systems (Sony being my main), but this lens might keep me around. It gives me RX1Rii and 24 GM vibes. Colors are maybe 90% there, but bokeh and structure are incredible. Love how these shots (that my friend took) converted to B&W.

Just got the lens to use with my new (to me) Z7ii! It’s definitely no RX1RII (35mm f2) or CV 40 f1.2, but at least it’s headed in that direction instead of elsewhere. Very pleasant colors, contrast (esp f2.8 and smaller), and rendering. Great lightweight AF alternative to my CV 40, this could be the beginning of something beautiful.
How would you compare this to the CV 40 f1.2 (apart from AF obviously). Now that it’s coming in Z mount, I’m considering one of these for my Zfc. I have the Cv 23 f1.2 which I like.
Thanks
These are some great images! It looks like people are really liking this little lens. I was looking to get the 50 1.8, but maybe I'll just get one of these instead. It looks like a lot of fun, and would save some $$ too..

Or you can just spend money and get both! You won't be sorry!

Already owning the 40mm it is hard for me to not do this, but the focal lengths are a wee bit close for me.. I'm alreayd turning into a prime collector, soon to be adding the 85mm and 105 MC
