So Nikon didn't know how to communicate it directly, then someone from Nikon, probably headquarters, called JP asking him politely to make a video with huge banner to tell people how they did it.
Doesn't it sound weird...it does to me.
I'm not saying it's not simulation, but how he learned about it, I wouldn't take it too seriously.
These YT's are struggling for new topics, they are willing to do anything to get some traffic.
The reason why I'm not helping them at all any more, I like watching videos from real photographers, who buy equipment for own money, and they talk about it once they learn how to use it.
P.S. Those YT's, like him, are like scavengers, they following rumors sites, then they run into their video studies to compile what they just learned from those sites rushing release, to generate some traffic.
It's so spread, and so obvious by now.
You won't learn anything from them, but you'll see all you learned from rumor sites in their videos, with some flavor to it, too good, or too bad, it depends what brand they "belong" to.

Didn't JP make some ridiculous comments about the Z9 at NR and then get roasted? Maybe he's taken it personal and came up with a teaser of what to expect from his Z9 review lol....i dont watch these youtubers anymore as they're so misleading but the one thing for sure is some of their criticisms in the past were indeed true but it's just that those reviews were not well rounded and I find them so brand biased and all the unnecessary drama.
Andd..when he says Nikon confirmed to him about the AF boxes in the teasers, was it actually Nikon or his usual madalene kay? 😁

The empty headed Sony acolytes are feeling insecure.....the pending touchdown of the Z9 is threatening obviously. Plus even more excellent Z Lenses....

I don't see what all the controversy is about over the focus boxes. A lot of people noticed that the boxes didn't behave like they do in live EVFs. JP says he called Nikon and they freely said that yes, they were super imposed in post production. It adds up, and makes sense.
The teasers are just that, teasers. They are meant to build interest and excitement. They are just a form of advertisement. Likely most of the scenes portrayed in them are staged and choreographed to look like photographers using the gear. The athletes, cars, and everything are not in real competition.
They are staged and the clips are probably the results of many retakes, and edits. Normal promotional material. There is no malice or wrong doing in that.
Now, if these were demos by Nikon that were fudged and augmented, that would be a different story. But they are not.
Why all the hate and anger? When the release of the Z9 takes place the initially available content will be in the same vein as those Sony a7IV videos that Thom Hogan commented on
"...Those aren't reviews. Those are biased impressions...."
Nikon is no different.
It is up to us as content consumers to keep what we are taking in in proper context. Pay attention to the specifications, listen to the opinions, and try to filter out the opinions, bias, and incompetence. It will be no different with the initial Z9 "reviews". No good or bad guys in this.

This post exposes anger, hurt, and a feeling of having been unfairly abused. But, You know I don't think most of those "empty headed acolytes" as the post calls them, give a hoot about Sony vs Nikon. They are in it for the money. It is their job. They make money from hits and views of their content. If something drives views they will exploit it. They are not threatened. They welcome and celebrate the release of all new products, especially those that create excitement and/or controversy. They are all looking forward to the Z9 release. It will make them $$$$$.
True, many capitalized, and profited from the recent difficulties Nikon has been going through. They exaggerated them in order to generate views. Most are looking forward to the Z9 and are certainly not threatened. Many Nikon fans who suffered at their hands recently would love to think they are threatened, and about to get their deserved punishment. But, the truth is, they are not. In reality, they just don't care.
The Z9 will hopefully deliver a great camera. Buy one and enjoy its new capabilities. But, it will not be delivering justice or retribution. It is in the end, just a camera.

Sony users already enjoy some amazing lenses and have had a 100-400 and 24-105 /f4 for 3 years and Sony just delivered us an amazing 70-200 f/2.8. We are doing it so tough.

To be clear, I don't think Chambeshi is referring to his fellow FM members who are Sony shooters. I think he was referring to the YouTube "reviewers".
Photographers are free to buy whatever product they wish. My issue is misinformation with those posing as industry experts, and then go to great effort to exhibit varying levels of failure. Nevertheless, it is has come to pass that some of the species of influencer have become lauded as credible sources.
NR is different, because its name speaks loudly, which doesn't further explanation.
Posting questionable sources to justify a whim has a record of eliciting condemnation in this forum. Attempts to cite this channel here previously generate noise and another brand war.

This may be good news for the rest of us... if Z7II's are sold to buy Z9s, they will be available for less on the used market. If I can find a Z7II at a reasonable price, I will sell my D500 and use that camera for my wildlife. Like the D850, the Z7II will allow for liberal crops, but unlike the D850, it has silent shooting.
I shot a D850 for about a year. I love the resolution of the camera but was frustrated by the extremely loud shutter. Because I shoot much of my wildlife in the pre-dawn to sunrise period, the sound of shutter really impacts my subjects and success. In the end, I sold my D850 and replaced it with a D500 (the camera I sold to buy the D850 ). While the Z7II will lack the AF horse-power of the Z9 (I currently have a pair of Z6ii's... one for me and one for me wife), its AF is more robust than the "crowd" claims. While initial acquisition is a touch slower than the D500's, once locked on to its subject, the AF tracks like all of my past and current Nikon F-mount bodies. If the fabled firmware updates ever come to fruition, I will likely live with a Z6ii/Z7ii combo platter until the Z9 tech trickles down into a $3500 camera.
My Spidy Senses are tingling again. I think everyone should set aside a minimum of 1 hour starting at 8 am tomorrow. Could be longer, so much new stuff to talk about.
I suspect that there will be more lenses announced than current rumors suggest. Possibly 4. Nikon is looking to make a splash.
There will be some truly innovative new features of great value. Also these are things no one has said anything about. One involves a very cool way to help keep the sensor clean. About time.

I guess the Elephant in the room is pricing. Everyone wants to know I am sure. The signals are so confusing. What we do know is that the Z9 costs significantly less to manufacture than the D6. So Nikon has the ability to make a statement that it wants bigger sales and still maintain margin. However as we all know pre-order activity is already huge. Nikon may choose to capitalize on that instead. I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't get that nailed down tomorrow if you can believe that.
Tomorrow is going to be an amazingly positive day for Nikon photography enthusiast. It has been a long time coming. I hope everyone enjoys it. I know I will.
The Z9 will have some fantastic capabilities. Some unique, and some new benchmarks will be achieved. But nothing is perfect. There will be some implementations that will create discussions. There will be areas where it falls a bit behind the competition. There will be goals that didn't get finished and will be announced but for later firmware. That is sure to create discussion. All of that is to be expected. There will be much to discuss. This is interesting stuff. Discussions of the controversial is as valid as anything else. It is going to happen. Enjoy it. There will be much more positive than negative in such a strong release that I expect the Z9 to be.

So I guess we can expect that you won't be quoting or referencing the reviews, impressions, and opinions about the Z9 that will be coming in droves starting tomorrow?
You will quietly wait for Months to give the few reliable guys time to do a proper evaluation?
Let's see. If the camera ships in late December, that means it will be at least March or April for such reviews.
I for one don't have that kind of patience or discipline. I admire you for setting such a high standard for yourself. Then again it is important to be consistant in expressing such strongly stated views on things.
On the other hand I expect that both Thom Hogan, and Steve Perry will release views and opinions on the Z9 almost immediately just like all the others. Hard to be a purest in these kinds of things after all.
I see people are getting a little worked up already about the Fro. I haven't watched that linked video, and I won't. I don't need confirmation that the teaser was done in post production, they always are, and nothing is that sticky in real life.
The only videos I watch from the Fro are his Previews and his Real World Reviews. No one else on YT does a better job of giving side by side comparisons, captured via EVF recordings to actually demonstrate how the AF systems are working. And the Fro usually takes at least 1 month of having the camera to put out his Real World Reviews so they are not just clickbait T&C crap. But for those that don't like him or his content you don't watch it, you scroll by it when it shows up on FM and you can spend your time watching Nikon employees like Ricci tell us the Z9 is the best thing ever even though he's never touched an R5 or A1 etc.
