Hmm I have to say I'm surprised - I've contacted a local dealer listing this lens to be available tomorrow and he replied to me saying that he already has quite a few preorders on it (these are not that common around here).
The popularity might be bigger than I expected, even with the pretty hefty price...

I am surprised to learn that anyone is surprised that the 35-150 will be a (very) successful product. Just because of its specs.
However, I still don‘t know how good the optical performance will be, but again, a 35-150 f2.0-2.8 surely is a zoom lots of people dream of.
Well, I am surprised because I didn't have to preorder any other lens I currently own, including some higly sought-after GMs.
I guess the wedding/event shooters (pros) see the potential in this one .

I can accept that this isn't going to be G Master quality.
I can accept that ZOMG it's heavy
I can accept that it's expensive (but honestly about what I expected considering the range and the aperture)
What I'm really concerned about is the fact that we're 10 days out from when B&H says it should be shipping and STILL not one major professional reviewer has gotten hold of one (aside from Matt Granger), and the only reviews I've been able to find are out of Japan, China and Vietnam, and I suspect those are likely more paid advertisements than honest reviews like you'd get from Dustin Abbott and others. At least based on what I've been able to glean while not speaking Japanese, Chinese or Vietnamese, the videos all look more like infomercials than reviews.

Tomorrow the German „Schießstand“ youtube channel will publish its review. Don‘t know whether this is acceptable to you or not.
In general, we have a completely different approach. My focus is always fully based on the quality of the lens/product. But everyone has different preferences. For me it's always the product itself.
But then again, if you are patient, you will also get what is important to you. Then you can still buy the lens.

I don't get the negative PR this lens keeps getting here... it's almost like people were creating accounts just to publish their random thoughts on why the Tamron is bad.
The last video shows quicker AF on A7SIII imho (tracking in video too), which should bode well for A1 users .

I think Tamron did a great job. There are people for whom this lens is so important that they open up an account just to write negatively about it. About a product which hasn‘t even hit the market yet. What else would a marketing department wish for?
Let‘s see how the product itself will be in the end. This is the only thing that matters. Hopefully it will be good. But we will find out soon.

Fuji just sent out updates to people who pre-ordered the new 23mm f/1.4 that was announced last month, won't start shipping until mid-Feb 2022. No way Tamron is in a better position with this lens. I'd expect an announcement of a shipping delay in the next 2 weeks.

I hope not. I will call my dealer tomorrow and ask whether they know more. I‘m also curious in which position I am with regard to the preorders. I ordered quite early, so I hope I‘m in a sensible position

Btw. I have ordered on the first of October. According to my dealer, I am in 7th place on the pre-order list. But they still can't say when they will receive the lenses. The plan is currently October 29th.

Accoding to this review, the lens might take air (= dust) during zooming. Important point to have in mind.
Hmm, that's actually a 2nd review to mention that then...
The previous one (I think it was Matt Granger) said that a "suction" sound comes from around the mount when zooming.
