That's one way to get a great workout and some photography in while your at it 💪 👌

Anyway what works for one may not be ideal for someone else, and vice versa. It's all cool.

Wow, that's... pretty crazy alright. I mean everybody do what works for them but i can't imagine carrying so much glass/weight on a trip, even on just for street photo which i do.

This Tamron isn't small nor light there is no denying this, however it also gonna make my bag pretty much empty (only Sony G 20/F1.8 will be there) so im ok with it.

Different people, different needs there is no right or wrong here. Having a lot of choice is good problem to have. Im wondering why there are no reviews yet and pretty much no pre-order atm anywhere.

If that is the correct price, they won't sell many. Getting too close to gmaster lens for same or not much more $$ in some cases. I look to Tamron for high value for the money. Not sure this is a good move...they needed to price this lens at under $1500 tops

The main idea of this lens is to cover both 24-70 and 70-200 lens.
If (the big IF) the IQ of Tamron 35150 to be comparable with abovementioned GMs (which most probably is not the case, bokeh in pre-review in Japanese looks bad, but it is too early to judge) the price looks justified.
Many people will be happy to swap their current zooms' set-up into 1635GM, 35150 2-2,8, 100400GM.

I don't think that's true. Most people even before were aware that the price of this lens will roughly be around 2000$ and it is indeed very close to that. For what this lens is it seems like a reasonable price, ofc like with everything it all depends on your wants/needs aka YMMV.

Im waiting for full reviews which will probably be published today or tomorrow but i expect it will have an excelent IQ just like 70-180, just faster and with more useful range. No talking about bokeh coz that's super subjective.

There's some image samples here. Slightly hard to judge sadly.

Pretty big and honestly I don't see a use case for myself currently, but for others who often need f/2.8 or faster along with a flexible zoom range like this (maybe wedding/event shooters?) I could see this solving a lot of problems when it comes to changing lenses etc.

I guess everyone travels different, but I'm not sure I agree with Tamron's description of a "travel zoom" as for me I don't often need the speed of f/2.8 or the size of the Tamron when traveling. But again, this might be due to my personal preference as opposed to anything else.

Maybe but it's still a third party lense and will have less value at resale. Also, it will not be able to perform above 15FPS for us A1 and A9 users. I want this lens to be great like the 70-180. But I would have issue spending $1800 on it knowing resale would be poor compared to Sony glass.

Huge 70-180 fan, here. I love it because it is fast, light and Uber sharp. It’s also an excellent value.

The 35-150 gives up some of these attributes. It is a bit heavy comparatively since not as long. It is expensive in comparison, too. It’s good enough re speed at the wide end.

If anyone were asking my advice, I would suggest getting the 70-180 plus a fast and lightweight 35 prime. Several good ones to choose from that could bring the total cost in at under the 35-150 price. The Sigma 35 f2 comes to mind as one stellar option.

As others have suggested, for a wedding shooter, this one lens solution checks all the boxes. For a one lens travel option, better choices include Sony 24-105 with IS that is not as heavy and can be found at just over half price of Tamron. For travel, landscapes and only one lens I need way wider than just 35.

If I were to guess, it won’t be a huge seller and may be available with a $200 rebate within less than two years of release. Now that I’m record with this prediction it’s certain to be a red hot seller 😀

This just don’t seem my style at all. When I use a 35 it’s usually for work needs grip and grin stuff. This would not work real well. Besides that I’m not the biggest zoom guy either. I’ll pass this one up. But I am thinking maybe that 70-180 might be interesting. I always rent the 70-200 GM and the copy variance sucks big time

The 70-180 really shocked me.. I didn't expect it to be as good as it is, especially owning mostly GM glass. Take care

Does anyone know at what focal length does the lense becomes f2.8?

It's going to be a big and fairly heavy lens. Not so great for travel... Maybe for other work
