A DSLR video
As a recent purchaser of a Z9 who is still figuring out how to use it, occasionally wonder if it will be able to improve my photography. I occasionally would shoot video with my D500, especially when light was really low. Below is one such attempt:

I've been chastised here for having the nerve to suggest that I, personally, don't see any evidence that switching systems would benefit my photography. One genius deduced that my reluctance to switch was due to my inability to improve my photography with better gear and it was arrogant to claim that everyone share my personal limitations. Huh ?? I don't think I'm the only one out there who feels DSLR's are perfectly capable machines held back only by the limitations of our own creativity and imagination.
Anyways, just some fooling around in the backyard. I often retreat to my little corner of the world when I don't have time to drive anywhere but just want to kill an hour shooting something. ...Show more →

Thank you for bringing this to light.
For sure, I will be getting a Z9 when the time is right. The advancement in AF, silence and addition of pro-quality video, are features that will make my work much more enjoyable.
In the meantime (and beyond!)......
I'd rather my DSLR images did not sit in hard drives, because of the advent of mirrorless photography.
And surely, there are more images sitting in photographer's hard drives, that were taken with DSLR's than with MILC cameras to date.
I hope folks keep this thread alive and near the top.

Wild Turkeys in yard
This is previous June's brood, all juveniles, out of the same nest. In other words, they are siblings. In order to get to my place, they had to pass through the other property, that is between mine and the woods. The people did not like it, because of turkey guano.
Then, I noticed that one of the bird's leg was bleeding. I asked the folks if they knew why the leg was bleeding, and I was told that it was caused by ice. I don't think so.
Anyway, I totally get it; i.e. not wanting turkey poop on the snow (in your yard). I told her that this was a brood that was hatched in June (that is when they most likely hatched) and that I just wanted to get these young one's through this storm and I would not feed them after this. These were poults just a few months ago. How would they know what was coming in winter. They would not know.
Give wildlife a chance and it will enrich your life.
