Wild Turkeys in yard

This is previous June's brood, all juveniles, out of the same nest. In other words, they are siblings. In order to get to my place, they had to pass through the other property, between me and the woods. The people did not like it, because of turkey guano. I noticed that one of the bird's leg was bleeding. I asked the folks if they knew why the leg was bleeding, and I was told that it was caused by ice. I don't think so.

Anyway, I totally get it; i.e. not wanting turkey poop on the snow (in your yard). I told her that this was a brood that was hatched in June (that is when they most likely hatched) and that I just wanted to get these young one's through this storm and I would not feed them after this. These were poults just a few months ago. How would they know what was coming in winter. They would not know.

Give wildlife a chance and it will enrich your life.
